ok so the car still missfires at wot.

can it be that the plugs i use is crap? its the NGK iridiums. on Nasioc a bunch of guys ran those and had problems. wish it wasnt such a pain in the arse to change. Should i just go back to the cheapo plugs?

let me know what you guys think.:spin:

sure it's not the pack?

ya could be the pack or maybe the tip or prong got smashed alittle when you put it in. causing the gap to be wrong?

i've had no problems at all with the NGK iridiums. Try some cheapo plugs and see if it changes it. make sure you check the gap on them before putting them in.

What are they gapped to now?

Not sure if you can adjust base timing on those cars but if you can thats something you would want to check. Or even check a datalog to see what that says your base timing is at.

Those are both a good starting point.

Are your injector duty cycles normal agian now by the way?

im assuming you have a 2.0l. 90% of the 2.0's will misfire with irridum plugs, for whatever reason that motor dosent like them.

hey nick, i dont know bout the duty cycles. i just got home from returning Jons cable so itll remain a mystery for a while. i just bought some cheapo copper plugs and ill change them in come the morning.

thats the one man, do you know any viable reason for them not working? ive read that a bunch of guys have had the same problem.

I'd arc test it before doing plugs. No since changing plugs if it's a coil or wire issue.

from what i have heard it had to do with the little extra reach the electrode has in the cylinder.

where or what cylinder is miss-firing?

i'm running the same plugs. I wonder if that could be the cause of some random knock i get between 1000 and 2000 rpm. It's time to change anyway. i'll try the coppers this time around.
