so has anybody gone through Emissions in CT... Im planning on going fully catless soon and from what ive been told in CT they dont have 4 wheel dynos so they only do a check with the OBDII port. Anybody confrim/deny this. What have your experiences been?

I moved from MA to CT in November and had emmissions done. I got to watch the process and, yes, only OBDII port and no dyno.

All emissions are done through your OBD2 port, at least in NH, they plug it in, fire the car, run the test. If it passes, great! If not, then you gotta at leasst throw a cat back in or fix the problem.

cool, a guy I know told me if you do throw a code, after it has been cleared you have to drive a certain number of miles for the system to give you a pass, so be warned if you clear a code with an AP might want to wait a little while before getting tested. this guy told me before I go for my test i can bring it in to his garage and he can plug my car in and check if it will pass or not. but thats good to know no sniffer. was there any kind of visual test looking to see that there are cats under the car? or just the plug?

No under-the-car visual inspection with my car, but this may depend on the individual technician. I also have stock exhaust, so that also may have been a factor.

PM me if you want to know where it is.

If they do call you on it tell them it doesn't matter because global warming is a hoax!

well I agree with you on that. even if it isnt the emissions from cars is so small... 80% of the US Carbon release is from energy production anyways. cars make up a literal and metaphorical "fart in the wind"

my buddy works at fairfield county motorsports and a guy in there has made something (i have no clue what it is although i did see it) so that a car can pass emissions without cats. he built it to go on porches because thats mainly what they work on there but he says it would work on my legacy if i go that route
