Sweet car. Subaru used to market these as "rally inspired" which is BS since *every* car is a rally car, but I see your's, " T-aRRR", is one of the rare "pirate inspired cars." "Wooden ship inspired handling. The 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX TaRRR, winner of five international swashbuckling championships." I'm pretty sure the pirate cars were a limited edition model, much as the RB5, 22B, etc., available in the US as a grey market import only.

I see you didn't get the optional STi pink 150ft mast or the Prodrive flush, side-mounted cannons. Good move... heavy, unnecessary options, much like A/C and power steering.

Heh, I love the captain, only mixed though cant shoot rum anymore...new tails are on the way. Also, painting the rear blue suby emblem a metallic black. Looks nice, after I got the ''i" I painted up the front and it looks hot. So the back is getting the same then goin back on. Maybe some tarmac 2's and new meats. As soon as I can get the dough.

Painting black tomorrow. Rims came in, they look ****in great! Tires will be in at 11 am tomorrow, hopefully mounted by 12.30, paint on by 1, dry by 3, leave belmont by 4, pick up Jamie, then Nicks around 5.15-5.30!

Alright here are some of the pics I shot from the day. I have some with rims off, so if you want to see those too let me know and Ill send them. I figured most people want to take a look at the finished product. These are just some pictures I took right after it was done in the back of the shop parking lot. Ill get some more pretty pictures soon and post those.

Heres a little bit how the day went: (Once nate and I both have pics from both our installs we can collaborate and make a guide for whoever does it next!)

The brakes are completely amazing! I am happy I got them and again want to thanks Jeremy and also Nate for lending his hands all day. What we did was swap my stock brakes with his brembos. It was a WRX specific Brembo kit so there was no WRX bracket needed for the install, they fit right in the stock mounting holes. The only modifying of my car I had to do was drilling out the rivets for the rear brake dust plates as they got in the way of the rotors. EVERYONE SHOULD GET THESE....

On another note. Brembo only sells one WRX specific kit. The kit fits all WRX models. It comes with adapter brackets, you just don't need them for the newer models.

Ya, I understand that. There are some guys pushing 315 whp and 330wtq with a vf39 on the new 2.5 wrxs on like 16 lbs. Ill be happy with 300/310, like I stated, I dont want a speed demon, but something good for the auto cross track. The vf39, for a slightly used price, is like half the cost of getting any of those other turbos.
I mean, less than a grand for an STi Intercooler, STi Intake, and VF39. Like 10,000 miles on them. The injectors on 06+ WRXs are the same, if not very close to the size of STi's, and they share the same fuel pump. I wont have to upgrade any of those items. If anything I could just get my injectors modded, but I dont think it is going to be needed. I can do that simple installation at my shop in a day, load a cobb base STi sstage 2 map, and save for a protune in a month.

Not sure, I was washing it Saturday night and noticed it then. Could have been at least 4-5 days before I paid any attention to that area. Right on the hood, matches the other marks that are on there. Coincidence? :spin:

Driving the white rex this weekend...man I forgot how crappy the handling is on stock wrx's. I still love the td04 though. I am thinking on P&Ping Jamies turbo, see what we can get out of it. Putting on her SPT catback tomorrow, with my old STi springs. She might be getting a set of white wheels in a week or two, too. Hopefully I can get her to do just a few more things to it.

Springs are great. It doesnt slam the car too much. It has what I think of as a perfect stance, but that is my opinion. As far as track handling, it was a whole new car on the autox course. It really felt as if it wanted to hold into every corner and continue to turn, MUCH better than STi springs. I have them mated with the Tokico D Spec struts and 2.5 turns from full stiff in the front and 3 turns in the rear its great. Cant wait to get the PSRS in soon! I would recommend these springs to anyone that wants a spring trackable and everyday driveable.

I like number one. Its clean, simple and a nice depth to it.
When your shooting try to split up the photo into thirds or so. the car in 1/3rd of it then the rest.

Hey car looks great! Didn't realize how much you've done with it until i read this thread. I'm thinking of going with a VF 39/43 set up this spring if I can afford it...but a house comes first. Hows the tranny holding up? how much harder does it pull? I'll kee my eye out for you in Manch.

It goes nice! I wanted something that was going to be nice for both autox and daily driving, with a somewhat low peak boost rpm. It pulls much harder and longer, straight till redline. I am planning on tuning it in the next month or so. If it's not quite what I am looking for, I may go vf48 or get a new compressor wheel with the 39. If you need a ride sometime to feel it let me know. Tranny is fine and I autox. It can easily hold up to 350whp if you don't drive like an idiot. They are a lot stronger than most people think. Thanks for the compliments they don't come often.

How does the SCCNH classing go? In SCCV I'm class 5 for both cars. Class 6 is Formula Libre and shifter carts. So year, Class 5 is the tops.


And yes, the Fiat is Class 5 WITHOUT the turbo. BTW, getting the itch to spool up the turbo in the X-1/9 soon!

Probably becase Race had like 3 cars in it, and SM had anywhere from 5-12, maybe just combine them and still PAX them the way they did last year. I bet that is it. We always ran with Race guys anyway.

SCCV goes by the base SCCA car rating. My X-1/9 (stock) is Class 2 plus 7. You move up a class if your additional points go over 14. Coil overs, engine mods, etc add up. So, yeah, I went up 3 classes with mods alone...

I wouldn't imagine it is going to really do much. Stock STI's are running them, and so are WRX's/Rs's (Wrong fitment Crew on NASIOC). I will only be running them on race days. Haven't thought much about it, but thanks for the info and I am going to look into that now.

You wont wear out a diff. The most stress is going to be on the suspension components and the transmission. I don't see the rear differential failing before the transmission does but even then I don't see it happening either.

It is more stress for sure but Terry knows how to launch and I am sure he will take into consideration that he has race tires and launch even easier with more clutch slippage.

I want to drive on slicks so bad. It will be hard to imagine that amount of grip.

Well, I put down 279whp and 308wtq on a Mustang, which is pretty darn good. Pushing 19.5 lbs. I am really happy and it is much more responsive and quicker! Another great tune received from Mike!

BTW, he sells emap AP tunes for $75 for most turbo subies!
