i'm guessing erratic loss of oil or oil pressure, perhaps?

Or maybe the unexplained loss when there is no indication you are burning it or leaking it?

its easy just do the following steps
1: park car over small pile of leaves
2: wait till small pile of leaves is combusted by aftermarket headers (or stock ones with removed heat shields)
3: arm self with you favored instrument of blunt trauma and club the little buggers when they seek egress via hood scoop
I know it sounds cruel but its OK! they taste like baby seals

How bad is it? a qt per 5k miles? Subaru's (especially turbos) burn oil. Part of it is the flat 4 design.

16.8:rofl: I've never been close to being that slow before.
I don't do that parking lot/street racing ****:spin:I track it.
I'm friends with a few subie techs and they all say its normal for the loss in oil and that its nothing to worry about:unamused:

I burn a little depending on how I drive.
I've been hearing good things about the german castrol not burning off like mobil 1 does.
