You are wrong. Oil pumps can and do seize. Mine happens to be belt driven. Kevin did not say the engine seized he said the oil pump seized. Engines can still run for a while after they lose oil pressure before the engine seizes.

Basically what happened is the oil pump drive gear shaft seized to the housing and the pulley snaped off the the shaft (somehow staying on the shaft melting a hole through the timing belt cover and not falling off saving me from smashing my valves).

Kevin also didn't clearify that the pump seized at the end of an 11 second pass and it was shut off imidiately after that. He's not claiming that I drive around town with no oil pressure. He was just making a joke that it lost oil pressure at the end of the run and still did an 11.

The whole thing I said stemmed around thinking that car had a crankshaft driven oil pump and it seizing would be extremely rare and would result in the housing blowing up and the oil going all over the place.

I am pretty sure I know the defination of seize.

I don't think anyone took that you were driving around with no oil pressure.

Is it driven right on the main belt or does it have a seperate belt that runs it solely? I don't know with that motor how many it has. I would be scared if it was off the main timing belt.

It actually wasn't an AWD class. They only had 2 heads up classes. Both were on a pro tree (which was completely new to me.) They had one slick class and one DOT tire class. It wasn't drive train spacific. The only rule was no V8's.
