Ok, as all people know, I work on My and Jamie's car myself. I do all the maintenance, mods, swaps, anything. Two months ago I didn't have time to get her oil change before she took a long drive up north in Maine. She took it to Ocean as it is where she bought it from. They changed her oil and told her she had to get a list of things done as she had just passed 50k miles. I told her I would save her money doing the 50k tuneup so we went that route. I was doing the maintenance and installing her SPT catback (thanks silver) when I realized her front end skidplate was missing. I am the only one besides the dealer that has been under the car since she got it. So she called them up and told them what happened and they said they would get back to her. The service manager called her back and said, "Oh, ya, I just talked to the tech, come back in and well take care of it, he knows he forgot to put it on."

I WAS PISSED. You have the ****ing phone number of the customer in your database, and know what the **** it came from. He was not very apologetic and acted is if it were not a big deal. I think they were trying to take advantage of her knowing she is a girl, but not that she is involved in the Suby community or has a boyfriend that knows what he is doing. We got the skidplate back, hopefully with all the hardware, and I will be putting it back on myself, and the car will never go back there again.

Again, another reason why I like doing my own work. I know who touches it and who I can and cant trust.

Ya, she is going to get the skid plate today so we will see what parts it comes back with.

I think that there was a guy there saying, "Hey, I need a skidplate for my car and this girl isnt going to know. I will just take this! "

i've had good results with ocean before, but i have heard some shady things from others. i have heard they are almost always quick to make things right.

I have a hard time letting any dealership touch my car.

If I had to have someone work on it. its ted(nhsilversti)he is the man.
I think I'll be going with range to do my clutch because ted doesn't want to do it with out a lift lol.

My personal feeling is that the only reason she got it back is because she is a girl.

When she went there they told her to pull in a bay and they'd put it on. She just looked at the guy and said, " I would rather just pick it up and have someone else put it on." Apparently he got what she was getting at after that comment.

So if you had to have dealer work done--say for warranty item check or something along those lines, which dealer would you guys recommend?

was that done after the harness? if it was then i dont know who did it because i was probably working at tricity then. and all the good guys from exeter are at tricity now so i would recomend people to come up to us. They dont have the best people at exeter anymore, most of them are kids right out of high school and such. The techs there dont really know a lot about the performance stuff either. So everybody is welcome to bring their car up to tricity and have me do stuff for them.

The only techs that left Exeter Subaru were ones that saw the "writing on the wall" and knew they were on borrowed time here (sorry Pat).

We have 5 of the best Subaru techs in New England with an OLP (customer satisfaction score) to prove it.

I highly recommend our dealership and will offer a free oil change to any one who visits for the first time (which means you've never been here before and are not in our service system); just ask for Jay!

Jay I would have to say that you are the one dealership I do know of that I would trust. I have never even met you but its based solely on the amount of time you spend in the community that gives me the impression that you guys mean real business. If and when I move into that area and dont have full access to my fathers shop (ten minutes from me here in belmont) I will be visiting you often!

hhhmmmm thats funny because if you look again at the soli (subaru owner loyalty index) reports you guys are always at the bottom and we are usually #1.

so you are saying that the hourly kids that are fresh out of school that you have are better better than me or the two other techs we have from exeter that have been working on subarus for well over 20yrs. the only "tech" you guys have that i know of that knows th cars fairly well is charlie.

and the reason why i left exeter was for more money and i went to a dealer that does more business which means more money for me.

i know this doesn't below in this thread, but and i would appreciate everything being moved after, but since we're on the subject, i always liked exeter, bought my car there, had them do oil changes, but then i was ripped off for around $300.

i went in had my a/c checked and was called with a price. called to book an appt, dropped the car off, and was told it was going to be $200-$300 more. argued that i had the voicemail for the quote and finally had it "fixed". picked up the car, and nothing had to be changed. I had to buy the parts from tri-city, and have someone else do it.

Gotta stick up for us.........

2mprzya is right to a certain extent. With that being said, the quote increased when the tech noticed that the second a/c line was crushed/bent due to the aftermarket top mount intercooler. Whomever installed the top mount crushed both a/c lines. The customer was told that when we called to increase the quote due to additional parts and labor required to replace both lines. The reason 2mprzya had to "buy the parts from tri-city, and have someone else do it" was because we did not fix the second line (customer declined the work).

And to finish.......if I was a betting man (which I am), I think it would be safe to assume that the line(s) are or will be crushed/bent again unless there was modification to the top mount and/or lines.

Sorry for the rant in the wrong thread, but............:spin:

neither line was replaced. they were old lines, i even marked them before dropping the car off. and you, exeter, was the one that installed the tmic.

Dan-
If you would like me to post your WRX's history on the forum to back up the dealerships reputation just give me the go ahead. The only item we installed that had anything to do with the TMIC was the intercooler pipe which you provided (we had to connect it because it was not connected causing a hesitation and CEL!!!!)!!!

Let me know if it's okay to post your service history so I can back my shop!

Sorry to continue to post in the WRONG thread. If it must be moved, please create a new thread or move into Vendor Review under Exeter Subaru. Thanks guys and I apologize again.
