I'm about ready to buy the new Hydra Nemesis 2.6, and just wanted to know who here is using it or older Hydra ecu's, and what are your opinions on it?
A pic of my new baby.

I know fitz on nasioc had a hard time with it on his gc8 with a wrx swap.
not sure what was the problems all I know it didn't work out.
might want to post this on nasioc. there's a ton of people with it on there or even iwsti.com.
but the hydra does look pretty cool for tuning but I heard there real touchy.

Thanks for the input Kevin. I've read a lot on nasioc about it, but I wanted to see if someone local has it or has worked with it before. I think either way I'm going to order it tomorrow. :D

Well I bought the new Hydra 2.6 with the optional wide band that plugs into the ecu and allows you to AUTO TUNE!!! I can't wait!

Now Kevin(KGJ996) Does this plug right into the harness or is this gonna need all the standalone splicing? Cause that's really whats keeping me from running a Hydra for my EZ over the Link as that will just plug and go.

After a few hours of tinkering and tuning, the car is up and running. The map the element tuning sent with the hydra was close but a little lean for my set up. A few data logs and slight changes to my fuel map got me dead on! This system is the coolest thing since slice bread.
The soft ware layout is very intuitive and realtime tuning make changing things easy and fast. I'm just waiting far my aux harnes to set up ff shifting, lc, and anti lag!

Hmmm... If I can plug and play with the Legacy harness maybe I will do the Hydra instead. We'll see. Glad it's working great for you. Are there gonna be any issues for inspection do you think?

I haven't figured out the state inspection thing yet, but if I have to, I will just plug in the stock ecu for the test, or find a garage willing to pass it as is.
I just got the product key from hydra ems to enable the auto tune feature last night, so this morning I got to try it out. My drive to work is about 10 miles and in that time I did 3 wide open throttle runs and a good amount of cruising and the fuel map tuned itself perfectly! It is very cool to watch the 3d fuel map change as you go and hit the target afrs dead on to red line!
Friday I am getting in my new WI trunk kit from Coolingmist, so I'm going to hook this up to one of the aux outputs on the hydra to use a 2d map to control this. :D

Yeah I started it today and it should be done tomorrow. That flange was wicked warped!

hmmm I might have to get a new flange and weld it on.
the flange is only like 20 bucks but it would be ***** to weld it on.

If you go that rout, I can weld it on for you. So far I have had to take a good amount of material off. I don't know if it will warp again after having less material to support the heat. Let me know and I can cut this one off and it will be ready for the new one when you get it.

we would have to mock it up on the car and tack it to get it line up though. or you think we could make a jig or something to get it lined up.

I could make a jig no problem. I'll start one today, just in case.

Kevin this still running strong and all that? I may be getting my hands on a V2.6 to drop in the SVX and wanted to know what you've found over the what's it been a year now? How the connection set up and stuff like that. I'm hoping I can find a way to have this just be plug intot he OEM ECU plugs and with base maps be good to start up and fine tune or protune from there before the Super Meet Part Duex!

^^ I have had this running my car for just over a year now and it has been flawless. It's been kind of scary because I haven't had to do any real tuning adjustments for a long time because of the auto tune feature. I run closed loop throughout the entire rpm range with the wbo2 wired into the ecu. The dual 16bit possessors allow it to make crazy fast adjustments when it needs to.
In terms of set up and connectivity, it was a breeze to set up and to find my way around the interface program. I'm not sure how easy it will be to get a good base map for your set up without having someone tweek the tune after it's in the car. The only reason the ots map is so good for the wrx/sti is because Element tuning races with these set ups.
