When I bought my car nearly a year ago I was told that I get free inspection for as long as I own my car. At the time I was well aware that it was just a ploy for them to make money, but I was still going to give it a shot.

Today when scheduling the inspection I find out that it wont be a free inspection, because the state imposed higher fees on the dealership; therefore I get to pay for my free inspection. This immediately struck a sour cord with me and I went to talk to the manager, where I failed to convince him that he had made a promise to provide free inspections and that agreement must be held regardless of the cost they incur increasing.

I didn't even receive good service when I bought my car there... My sales person was a typical slimeball. Furthermore; the parts department there is consistently more expensive than Belknap and Manchester (18 dollars for a hose that Belknap Subaru and Manchester sell for 14).

This is just a word to the wise... I certainly don't expect anyone not to do business with them. This is more of a way for me to vent than anything, I cant say that I'm surprised that a dealership lied to me about their inspection scam being free.

My mom had her outback serviced there several years ago, she didn't have a good experience either.

When I was looking to buy a subaru I went there. The salespeople didn't even bother to come out and say whats up. Ed Reiliy Subaru = THUMBS DOWN.

I take my car there for service (and by service, I mean oil change) and they charge me like $25 since I bring my own Mobil 1.

Beyond that, I had a very bad experience with the sales goons, and have subsequently purchased TWO Subarus from Manchester. An '05 STi, and my current Spec B.

Their service department isn't horrible (apart from the apparent reneging on the free inspections) though, so I'll probably keep taking it there for minor stuff..

since owning both of mine Ive never been able to get the free inspection. For obvious reasons with the leggy, but the impreza failed for tint...lol I laughed hard when my service manager explained that to me.

I have had some warranty service done here and I bought my car here. I don't like any of the sales guys. They seem way too fake friendly.

They were ungodly slow working on a power window problem on my car.

I spent at least 24 hours in the shop total and all they did was replace the switches and the motor.

I was in the waiting area the whole time and watched them rip people off. The worst example was a kid that brought his mom's car in to do the inspection. They come back and tell him the horn doesn't work and needs to be replaced for $90. After they install the horn they come back again and say the horn wasn't broken, but it was a relay and he still paid for the horn.

The toothless parts guy is a waste of space and has no idea what he's talking about. There is another parts (manager i think?) who is older and actually knows what he is doing but never operates the desk unless toothless wonder is gone for some reason.

Some other old lady paid $900 for a new cat!
