From Resident Advisor (http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=8611):
German electronic producer Ulrich Schnauss (http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj-page.aspx?id=926) completes his shoegaze-meets-electronics triology with a third album. ‘Goodbye’ is out in mid-July.
In true Kevin Shields style, ‘Goodbye’ represents three solid years of work in the studio. Schnauss even moved back to his hometown, the tiny fishing port of Kiel, to make the album. "Up until last summer, I was really unhappy with this record and really frustrated," Schnauss recently told Billboard. "I almost gave up on it. But in the last five or six months, I got it right, and now I'm very pleased with the results."
Both of Schnauss’ previous efforts (‘Far Away Trains Passing By’, 2001) and (‘A Strangely Isolated Place’, 2003) were unexpectedly popular critical successes away from traditional electronic circles. "I see these three albums as moving closer to something I wanted to do right from the beginning but didn't quite manage," he says. "Merging songwriting and indie elements with electronic music."
‘Goodbye’ by Ulrich Schnauss will be released on Domino on July 10th, 2007.
