I've noticed this squeaking noise developing coming from me wheels for the past couple of weeks (started before I replaced struts/springs). Difficult to describe, but it's kinda like squeaky brakes, but happens while driving. It won't happen while driving straight, but turning the wheel a very tiny amount left or right will cause it to kick in. Brakes pads are relatively new (~5k). Anyone know what could be causing this?

power steering? see if it makes the sound even while you are stationary with ur foot on the brake

Nope, it's not the power steering. Doesn't happen when I'm not moving and it also changes with speed (squeak frequency/pitch changes with speed).

Check your hub nuts...make sure they are tight. I have heard of those loosening when changing suspension parts.

Does the noise stop when you hit the brakes?

Wheel bearings?
If its a wheel bearing its really easy to diagnose... just violently shake and rattle whichever wheel you think the noise in coming from. If you get any play its probably the wheel bearing. Its easier to do with the wheel jacked off the ground.

Nope, it stops once brakes are applied. I've been talking to some people about this and they think it might be the brake wear sensor, is that possible?

Is the sensor you're talking about the metal clip that hits the rotor when pads are too low? If its a pulsating noise maybe your rotors are a little warped. I hear that can happen if lugs are over-torqued.

Did you try my suggestion?

I'm going to have to wait until I'm up at my dad's unfortunately, I don't have a jack with me, but I'll definitely check that first. Thanks for the help everyone.

It sounds like a wheel bearing. My left front started to go and it would only squeak when I turned slightly right, but would stop when I drove straight, until it got so bad it squealed all the time. If it is a bearing, it will squeak for a while then go south all at once.
