Anyone have a suggestion on a catted downpipe for me to pick up? It'll be bolted on to an ebay cat-back exhaust. Needs to be catted because my exhaust system would be just too loud with catless. Cheaper the better because I'll need to flash to stage 2 and get a tune so that's more money into the burn pit.

I really like my helix catted dp. It sounds nice, and the price was right. It was $320 shipped from gruppe-s.com

Hmmm, wonder if I could get it for cheaper used. Don't really want to spend that much cash on what basically amounts to a pipe. If I still lived at my parents old house in londonderry I'd bend my own pipe.

Most of that cost is because of the cat. non catted pipes are half as much, but the helix is the cheapest catted dp that didn't have fitment issues. I've seen people buy cheap crap and not have it fit at all. I guess it come down to you get what you pay for.

How would you bend a bell mouth?

I could have the bell mouth portion made by a buddy, then weld the bell mouth to the bent piping. But I don't have a welder, or pipe bender like I used to. Plus I'm just not up to the work these days. I'd rather just have a finished piece and install it myself.

Used to be so much easier back when I worked on me and my fathers '73 chevelle.

Put it around a metal shaping cone and beat it with a hammer.

LOLz, that's what my buddy chris said, but that will exert more physical energy then I'm willing to give for a downpipe.

I think the catless will be much too lound on my cat-back exhaust which is the main reason I'm looking for a catted.

That wasn't because of the exhuast from his car ;), it was because of the exhaust from something else....ewwww.
