mountain bikes?

I lied, I have more then two....I have a single speed mt bike that is set up for just messing around on and dropping things. I then have another mt bike that is beat to hell because I rode it to hard. Also have some sort of trek road bike.....I ride the single speed and the trek the most.

'03 Civic EX Coupe. Sold the Forester two months ago and bought this heap to drive back and forth to work, trying all the while to systematically and somewhat unwittingly destroy it with road debris, gravel, and abuse. I'm winning. The suspension is made of recycled pencil erasers, the shifter of horse glue, and VTEC is for queers. At least it looks good if you're crosseyed. "38mpg," I keep telling myself. "38mpg."

I'll post pics when I finally take some. Two weeks after I traded the Forester, my wife went and bought a Cayenne Red '04 XS 4EATME with 22k... guess she had withdrawls, and I'm slightly jealous; holy sunroof, Batman.

I am glad I did cause I really dont have time to enjoy them as much as I should, and I like driving/autoxing my car a hell of a lot better. jonny-rockets
04-05-2008, 11:12 AM
haha, that's a good point.

on a bike you have some advantages though that can keep you out of trouble:

1). you maneuver faster than everyone else

2). you can stop faster than everyone else (cept for maybe terry and his brembos)

3). you can accelerate faster than everyone else.

**** is intimidating and sometimes scary man i got run off the road on route 4 by some dumb broad who decided to change lanes, into my lane with me still in it. you just gotta know how to move, ya know?

gtbensley
04-05-2008, 12:37 PM
^^

But when you do get hit you dont have anything protecting you. If you can stop faster then you will also have people running up you ass because they couldnt slow down...I want a small bike to learn on. Nija 250 or something.

I think my parents are afraid of someone hitting me, not me killing myself because I am not responsible and drive like a moron.

jonny-rockets
04-05-2008, 05:18 PM
Yeah that is spot on man. I'm sure your parents are more concerned with other people hitting you, that in my opinion, is the most dangerous part.

Getting a small bike to learn on first is a great idea.

replaced my fuel lines this past weekend. got rid of that ****ty clear rubber tubing (all kinked up) and put some nice braided fuel injection lines in there.

I also do some barefooting, not recently though since no one I know besides myself has a boaters license in NH and can tow me on my families boat (2004 Baja 38 Special, 38' long, 525hp via twin mercs).

Think my father has finally decided that selling it in this market is going to be difficult and is going to have it transported down to Georgia with them until the market rebounds and sell it then. He's been living down there for 2 years now and the boat is still up on lake winni.

no turbo, and it is officially for sale now. Long story...I bought it for my step son thinking it would be a cool thing to do, but he would have to work to pay for it. He thought it was a free ride and was totally pumped, and the minute I told him he had to get a job and pay for it, he decided he wanted something else. Yeah, it's still a cool car to drive around.
GTA = cool burnouts, torque, scary in the corners
WRX = no burnouts, BOOST, kicks butt in the corners
I guess its all about what mood your in :D

Nice CR man, 500's are sick. I grew up around bikes and quads, raced motox on my 400EX for a while. Had a heavily modded 400EX (http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.atvsource.com/manufacturers/honda/2003/prod_line/sportrax_400_ex_red.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.atvsource.com/manufacturers/honda/2003/400ex.htm&h=400&w=600&sz=42&tbnid=R1ofLwQbNS4J::&tbnh=90&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3D400ex&hl=en&usg=__vOfefq4N5sbUd4PuFXNi9KPParA=&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=2&ct=image&cd=1) and a heavily modded 250R (http://www.uship.com/listing/show_listingImage.aspx?maxwidth=270&maxheight=210&filename=/static/99afd296-95b2-43e5-b.jpg) quad that I ripped on for years. I wish I could show some videos but theyre all on VHS tapes, haha! I have a butt load of pics and **** though I should be able to find later on this week. I miss those things real bad, theyre a thrill and they keep you in pretty good shape if you ride them they way they are made to be ridden.

Both pics werent the actual quads, just gives you an idea of what they are!

All buttoned up. The gas leak was the injector hoses (as you saw) and the oil leak was the input line. I didnt "crimp it".

Just took it out for a spin. Temps good, no smoke, turbo whine...

Not alot of power but I didnt go over 3k rpm (it red lines at 7500). I may have been spoiled by the WRX...

Nice!

I bet that bus corners well

no doubt; It's nice to have a driver take care of things like getting me to places on time. All I have to do is sit back and relax, listen to some music...and the crazy people, and the driver takes care of the rest. Doesn't do too well in drive-through's though.

...still working on it.

It also overheats frequently and breaks down during the summer time when the A/C is on. Which is why I opt for the motorcycle on warm days.

Nissan's most succesful WRC car :)

yours is a T12.... you can get turbo kits for it cheap, as some models came with them

cool I got it for 300 bucks with no rust just needs brakes.
I really don't know anything about it.

it's really heavy, and underpowered

You can however drop a CA18ET in it and those hold 200+ WHP with basic mods.

My car is not a Subaru. My car is not a car in fact.

My vehicle is a 2007 Toyota Tundra double cab 4X4 limited model with the 5.7L 381hp V8 and 6 speed auto.

Perhaps I will own another Subaru, but judging by the 2010 Legacy it will be quite some time before I do.

Either way the truck will stay, it is far too useful to be without one in the future.

I am rather fond of it too. Probably more truck than I need right now....OK definitely more than I need right now. On the other hand as long as it holds up the truck will meet my needs for many years to come, which is kind of the point in buying it in the first place.

The Tundra is heinously filthy right now though, even by my standards for a truck. It has 1000 miles worth of accumulated winter road grime, dirt, and mud on it. Maybe I'll go wash it today and make my sciatic nerve real mad at me. :unamused:

Also fun for those who don't own a light truck, is buying tires for said truck. Put four new tires on and went with some good all terrains to the tune of $944.36 for all four mounted and balanced plus a "free" alignment check. :spin:

Oh well at least these are champs in the snow: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Wrangler+SilentArmor&partnum=765TR8WSAOWL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

I broke down and washed it the other day. I drove on some pretty salted up roads so I figured I should get that **** off the bottom at least. First time I've seen the tires clean and dry since they got put on. It was snowing the day they went on in Springfield, MO.
