I am not sure where to put this but it may be my suspension so I figured here. Anyways...Yesterday driving I noticed that I get a clunk when starting from a stop. At first I thought it was from the back but now I am not sure. Might be in the middle of the car. What could this be? Suspension, engine mounts, axles, cv joints, transmission something? I am really frustrated about this....I keep breaking things on my car and I even drive it like a old lady....Seriously. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Forward clunk is usually indicitive of a tranny or engine mount.

Turn your car on, open the drivers door and flip the throttle.

if you heard vibration around 2-3.5k rpm it's a motor mount.

if it only does it while moving it's probably a tranny mount.

What gear? what speeds?

if it is on the inital start off or the first to second gear shift it is probably the rear diff bushings. on bumps it might be the bushings at the tops of the shocks.

diagnosing any under car sound is tough stuff as sound bounces around like crazy and gets transmitted through metal.
Hope this helps!!

It does not seem to be very consistent. I here it when starting of in first gear easily and with the clutch all the way out or almost all the way out. Does not seem to make a noise when I hit a bump but I may just not be hearing it. Turning in a parking lot with steering locked both ways does nothing. Stopping seems fine but again, I might just not be hearing or feeling it. This is car is starting to bug me. I love it but it is having small problem after problem. Driving home today it randomly shut off......or because I have been up so long I may have shifted into fifth instead of third.....anyways...it started up and runs fine.

+1. Grab some Whiteline or Kartboy rear diff bushings(regardless if it's the cause or not:))... they're cheap, tighten up and quiet the rear end a bit, and install with hand tools and a jack in 15 minutes.

Before I spend any money I need to be sure that that is the problem. I am a little tight on cash. I also seem to get the feeling that it might be from the front. Anyone want to take a look?

This issue is now on hold......I went to check my oil like I do every couple of day and I found out I blew my HG...Needless to say I am just a little pissed of right now. Not sure what I am going to do about it. I dont got much money.

I dont know what the hell is going on with it. earlier it seemed all messed up but I was just out looking at it and my oil is fine and coolant seems clean. Maybe I am just to tired to figure this out.....I was parked on a tiny hill the first time that I checked it and then ran the engine for about forty seconds to move the car into the garage and check it again. Maybe the minute or two that I gave it to settle was not long enough. I am going to go drive after dinner and keep a very close eye on whats going on. Hopefully its nothing.
