with a $1000 limit, how would you upgrade the stock suspension on your WRX?

mostly street, occasional spontaneous rally, maybe someday autocross.

I say non aggressive springs of choice and kyb struts.

Then cheap sways.

What would kyb struts give me that stock struts and new springs would not?
Is it really worth it for the price. Just wondering cause I really dont know. My original thoughts were the cobb stg 2 suspension package or the basic tein coils.

I say STi struts (400), RCE yellow springs(250), Gruppe N Top Mounts (200ish), sways(200ish), endlinks (150). Top mounts arent a huge priority, but that would top it off. Thats what I would/want to do.

Tires count as suspension upgrade don't they? I would get sticky tires first and then address the shortcomings with the leftover change (sways and alignment).

Ken is all set with tires!

Good choice for about 1k.
If you save some more go with a nice coilover set up from somewhere like Ohlins, TiC, or RCE Tarmac 2's. I realize you would have to save twice as much, but you will get twice as much performance out of them.

Well, i started first with new sway bars, i bought the cobb tubular front and rear swaybars with the heavy duty mount. I decided against the adjustable mounts cause they are expensive and i dont really race enough to warrant adj suspension just yet. Along with the sways i picked up a perrin high flow catted midpipe to complete my scooby sport shorty downpipe. also picked up the kartboy short shifter and bushings. Anybody got any endlinks they want to sell for cheap or know where i could find a good value?

Go kartboy endlinks. Best bang for your buck. Still arounda hundred buccks though. Search nasioc.com classifieds for used ones if you wish. kartboy.com ships for free.

Just ordered the front and rear endlinks from Kartboy. I know i dont really need front links all that much but oh well, they will look better than the stockers if anyone randomly crawls under my car.

I just bought a set of sti struts off of nasioc($250 shipped with 15k) and a set of Tanabe gf210s ($199 shipped new) for a total of $450. this leave a lot left over for other goodies:devil:. I'm installing them this friday if you want to go for a ride after and see how this set up is let me know. I also have 24mm perrin sways front and rear with kartboy end links. A must have in a wrx imo.

not a bad deal. This is something that i need to find but i am not a great shopper. I usually lose my patience quickly and end up buying new ****.
Thanks for the offer, maybe i will give you a call next week to check out the new setup and see how it rides.
