So today I got rid of the cat in my up-pipe... replaced it with STI up-pipe. Very noticeable improvement in power delivery, as it spools better and pulls ****in great.
But I wasn't expecting such a huge increase in full cat-less smell... that little ass cat was cutting down almost all of the fumes. I'm so surprised that a little 1x2inch cat was keeping almost all of the cat-less smell at bay. Makes me think about welding a cat back into my system.

You should still have a cat or two in your car. It is still a stock exhaust right?

I don't like catless car and I sorta care for the emissions a little but more for the smell.
It is dangerous to your inspection sticker too. Get unlucky and sit in traffic with a cop and your car is all stinking the place up. Not so good. As if our dont draw enough attention as it is.

Fully cat-less... I have a Invidia cat-less DP with stock cat-back and AP stage 2.
is it really that bad.
Bad enough that seriously hoping there was some excess fumes from the Liquid Wrench burning off and it will be better today.

I'm the same way... It sorta bothered me morally, but the stink will be what makes me get a high flow cat.

Exactly. If you think the cat steals too much power trade of for a high flow one.

I really dont think I'll see a huge drop in performance, from what I hear I will be able to offest whatever performance loss there might be by ditching my stock CBE for a better one... which I've been meaning to do anyways.

I know rich from daddy's sport compact performance makes a nice highflow cat that can be cut into a reg 3"dp you can bolt it in or weld it.
I think I'am going with it when I move to my new house in nh. I think nh is a little more strict then the guy a use in mass.

I was thinking about getting the whisper twin tip CBE so I might check into getting a high flow cat at the same time... thanks for the heads up.
I'm getting use to the cat-less smell, I just don't warm up the car inside the garage anymore. Before I would just open the garage door when I let it warm up now I pull it out a little bit.
