New Computer!

My computer was a little behind the curb, not far but i decided to upgrade since my power supply just bit the dust. So heres what im getting!

Motherboard - Gigabyte MA790X-DS4, amd790x, socket am2+
Processor - AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Black Editon, 3.20GHZ
Harddrive - Seagate, Barricuda 250 gb
Video Cards - HIS Radeon HD 3850 Video Cards, 256mb GDDR3

20" Monitor
Boston 2.1 True Sound
Windows Vista home premium

I am psyched about it, 1080P input on dual Graphics cards! total was just over 500. Which is unbeliavble!

1 question for some of the other pc enthusiasts, My current harddrive is crap, it has alot of stuff on there that i want to keep, would i be better off backing up files to my 1tb buffalo? or just format and reinstall everythign? i know if i go that way some programs will be missing files and such.

not lucky, kinda stupid decison but i will be happy in the end. i didnt really want to buy everything but after getting prices on things on the wishlist it was more affordable than i thought

Ditch Vista, seriously.. I bought a new computer, amd dual core, blah blah, 4 gig of ram, blah blah... Vista ran no faster than XP did on my single core, 1gig p4 machine.... Put Ubuntu on and the thing absolutely smokes.

vista didnt slow my computer down, it just took up more space.

ur probably not running vista ultimate with aero are u? unfortunately most of ur games wont run on ubuntu like chris advised

I have Vista home premium, i won it at a raffle. If checked out ubuntu, i never really understood linux, and the fact i cant play my games makes me lose interest FAST!

you cant get rid of vista...i live for my computer to ask me if i 'really' want to do things that im trying to do its great. vista gives you the pleasure of having to sit there for an entire upload of a program, so it can periodically stop and ask you dumb questions... its the best!!
