what do you think?
I talked to MiddleG about it and we never watch live TV.
Might be worth it to save $80 x 12 = $960 a year.

I'm looking at it as well. At $99 it is right with the competition (ie Boxee and Roku)

Does netflix allow you to watch episodes of a tv show 24 hours after they originally air?

If you strip the browser information out you can stream hulu to a PS3 also (what I do)
Netflix has stuff as soon as they hit DVD (ie at the end of seasons for TV shows)

I havent seen all network shows air on hulu or ps3 store. Maybe lesser shows that dont have a big audience dosn't get it
But I know with the deadliest catch episodes, the next day it was on the PS3 store in HD for $3.99
and you own it after that.
However you will always run into some networks not airing all of the seasons episodes online. Netflix normaly has them to DVD however.
However if it is some sort of obscure show with not a big fanbase. It may not be trendy enough for apple
At this point you can find some crappy feeds online via teh interwebs, or just order the dvd off of amazon or something. Chances are if you like the show that much, you may end up getting the DVD anyways.
I went through a few years with just basic 10 channel cable to save money. I know alot of tricks, and hulu wasn't even around that time
Now adays its easy, and your not waiting for a queue on winamp
Method I didn't know about that trick with hulu and the ps3.
Id try it, but my computer is also hooked up to my tv  Though that info may come in handy
well keep in mind you can still buy TV shows and download them to your computer, and then stream them to the apple TV. The renting is just for people who want to stream to the apple TV from the interwebs.
i also have hulu plus on my ps3 and it seems to be pretty good too.
The problem with all of this, is there is still no way to get live sports unless you just want to read it or listen to it.

the apple TV i have now will just go into my office for me to hack around with.
I have been using apple TV for a while because my schedule is pretty busy at times.
The thing that used to suck was i would spend the money on TV shows and then watch them and maybe not care to keep them afterward. If i really like something (LOST) I would just buy it on blue-ray. But i use it all the time for some many things.
A lot of TV show Pilots are free so you can check them out to see if you will even like them. to me, apple TV is just a huge pay as you go DVR that you dont have to pay for monthly.
I have Charter Communications here in Coventry and they suck real bad.
I also like watching YouTube and all of the photos on my mac stream real nice when my parents come over and want to see what we have been doing. I also use MobileMe to setup all this crap on the web, and for email on the iphone
I thought it was 4 weeks out?
I am an Apple developer and I have a business contract with Apple that just bumps me up the list sometimes.... it's not guaranteed i will get them sooner, but most likely

This is very true in a way :/
For example, Hockey.. I love watching it, granted you can watch a few games on hulu, even clasic ones. Watching live you either find a crappy live streem that is pixilated.
Or I pay NHL money and beable to watch what ever I want live, assuming in good quality.

tvduck.com + AdBlocker in firefox = FTW
I pay for netflix, but it's only $9/month and I stream oodles of movies and TV. And still looks great on my TV.
Almost anything Apple is overrated and overpriced IMO. There's always a cheaper, equally performing competition. Presuming you aren't an idiot with technology.

Talked to middleg an i think were gonna get one just for certain shows and keep cable.
HBO/skinamax is $20 a month and I only like 2 sbows.
At $0.99 an episode the savings is huge.
