For the past 2 weeks my car has been running at 1,100 at idol when i first start it but after riding it for a few minutes it drops to 500 which is what it used to do after starting it. the car was tuned a few months ago and there are no check engine lights on at this time. last week thought a missfire did accure but it didn't stay in the memory. anyone have any ideas what it might be? i have checked all the hoses and none of them are loose.

nope. if i drive it from my house to a stop light half a mile away it still runs high.

sound like the iac (idle air control valve) is sticking. try cleaning it. make sure to get a new gasket for it before you pull it off.

What does the IACV look like and where is it located? Also, what do you use to clean it?

pretty sure its just the car warming up, cause once its warmed up it goes back to normal right?? haha, just saying...i wouldn't replace anything, if it was stuck, it would stay that high all the time.
