2001 Subaru Legacy Outback. 2.5 4cyl. Standard. Front/before catalytic converter. Iv'e been buying 02 sensors from my local auto stores for sometime now, bond auto & advance auto, but now all of a sudden everyone wants over $100 for the 02 sensor, which I have never payed more than $85. Can someone stear me in the right direction in getting the 02 sensor I need under $90. Also can I use a universal set-up? I was always told a universal set-up would not work properly being the front 02 sensor is a heated/air fuel sensor.

Found this on rockauto website, they tell me it fits automatic or standard, I thought it had to be transmission specific???

AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 5S4503 {#22641AA00A, 22641AA011, 22641AA01A, 22791AA00A, SU6800} $61.79

I went back to my local Bond Auto Store & told them there was no reason I had to pay $129 when Iv'e never payed more than $85. Now all of a sudden the part is $40+ increase just because of the year & transmission. I buy enough parts from Bond's to help keep them in business, needless to say they came down on the price. Thanks.

You realize they have a website and could've shipped it to you right? I mean seriously driving on Second St sucks, would've been worth the like $5 in shipping

Second street is 2 mins driving from my house, on my way to work, not so bad. Just the dealership has the worst parking when they are busy, fyi I haven't gone to get it yet. Tim just fix my car.. and GIMME YOUR KEYS or your fired :)

the ones you buy at a parts store are not always as high qaulity as the OEM ones.

I'm sure the part guys here will argue this with me though......

+ OEM one has 1 year warranty
