Spent lots of time dialing in Axis's car today.

Cobb SRI
Invidia TBE
Turbo XS rep FMIC
GFB bov
Forge UNOS

Tuning notes:

91 octane :unamused:
10.8 AFR
20 Psi to 15 taper
91 Oct style ignition timing
Could use a modified stock BOV (leaks around 20 psi)
Could use a Walbro 255.

Made as high as 306 and as low as 294, we averaged 4 runs together.

The key is the FMIC and the Invidia pipes, they seems to flow significantly well on every car I done. Possibly in my head. :spin:

And he's been running around like this since the FMIC was installed and on the V1 AP STG2 maps... Glad he's finally tuned right.

dat is some smack Axis, nice job to both U and bren..

@bren...

did U struggle with the quality of Maine fuel? I know when I had my car done there was a number of face palms directed at side effect seemingly caused by the fuel..

were those numbers heat soaked by the time U got 'em down?

I know I suffer some of the same "taper" U ran into with Axis... They searched and searched to any logical or mechanical reason for it... seemed to B the gas AGAIN.

MAine finest...preignition paradise...

91 is a pain, but we worked through it. FMIC helps keep the IAT's down so it wasn't as bad as I thought. 91 octane sure does not like high compression or moderate ignition timing.

It was 99 degrees out and the car handled itself nicely the whole time, coolant temps and IAT's were consistent, even with heatsoaking it never went below 294.

nice.. yeah that 91 up here is sure good on flapjacks... my car and my Craftsman lawn mower idle pretty much the same...

@ BREN Again...U the type of dewd to come up to Maine for the rally? I'd like to shake UR paw...

Ahhhh, just woke up from my old man nap. Wow, what a trip it was but man am I glad I made the trek. The car just runns so much smoother in general and I'm sure more could've been pulled out if it wasn't so hot outside. Bren, you did an amazing job! I can't view the chart either, though :( (don't have permission)

And I'm in love with your M3...

Chart works for me!

Damn good numbers for 91 octane. Did you get any pulls with the OTS map for comparison?

I have a feeling it's something w/only mods having permission to view for whatever reason. Us peon's aren't so lucky

Yeah, I was kind of hoping to see some before and after numbers but Bren brings up a good point. I had been runnng the fmic for 3 months without the proper tune, I think I was playing with fire on that one. No need to tempt fate.

BigD, thanks man!

Haha, damn whipper-snapper! Respect your elders and all of that jazz...

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, we had 4 people in the car when we were tuning it, too. I had a lot against me: the heat, crappy 91 oct. fuel, and extra 275 lbs of dead weight.

bren, i didn't know that tuning a car was actually fun! we just like to drive around fast anyways in our spare time, but with a computer hooked up to it it's even better

oh we gonna have fun at the rally... our cars will B deathly close running on that there cruddy 91...

anyone coming to NEFR who is tuned to better gas may want to consider an additive to combat our gas... I HATE octane boost and that crap but our gas is really really bad...

U think I'm kidding? wait until U follow me and have a craving for pancakes cause my exhaust smells like maple syrup..
