Either work. I used to go up to NHMS on the days the Formula Vee's were running because my moms boyfriend raced them. It was awesome those things run faster than the corvettes that show up.

Nice. :)
The n/a goes quite far.. do those have timing chain or straight gear option?
I was following beetles for awhile and heard one with "timing gears" on youtube...very very tight engine. They made a racing sound. I am not sure why it did it for the engine, very tight.. Driver did not even need high revs to go drifting around the lot it was in...
in reference to sound. It can be exotic as its natural balance....just gotta get it all in there.
the ea82 was challenge to get two belts, two different lengths to gain a stable throttle curve. the vw, and EA81 is much easier as direct timing.
nice engines.
empi timing gears, straight cut...I think this is what I found and forgot.

videos never do the boxer justice... but the "woosh" identifies what I found awhile back...
they can go to rather large dual 40 idf...as long as the time stays micronic.

the cam is direct driven off the crank. the problem (not really tho) with this block is that it was a fuel injected engine. so there was no were for the mechanical fuel pump to go. so i had to go out an buy an inline pump.
yeah the flames startle me a bit. there is another video NWS tho casue i swear in it. in that video i tried to catch my hand on fire.
fun runs are a possibility but there are size requirements to fit in the car. you need to be as tall or shorter than me and no wider than i am casue i am shoe horned into the car. also to do fun runs you need to enter in the auto-x event. oscar bring the garage queen there is no need for a hard launch at auto-x and the car would be great fun since the event is call smoki'n subies
