Ok so didnt really get strait answer on last post, but i desided to avoid coilovers for my kids sake. I got a 1998 leagacy outback. Looking at putting regular legacy struts for a drop with lowering springs, or struts from a gt. Any good name brands for preforance struts? has anybody done this? Which ones am i better off getting for a couple inch drop and better handling and which lowering springs is a good choice? I live in the states so name brands over here would be easier. Or should a avoid the lowering springs all together and just stick with gt struts?

KYB GR2's are a good replacement strut, and work pretty well with lowering springs.

+1 on the GR2's. they're pretty cheap and have no trouble with lowering springs. its the route that Im going to take with my OBS.

gr2 is great.
they also mention making up for years.. as if they know what steel does as it gets old.
I trust it, they do good.. I got them on a 23 year old sube. 200 pound springs...the steel was failing all around when I bought it, struts hang in there.
