2002 WRX 145k Miles

Full EJ257, no AVCS, stock 02 wrx ecu
DW 1000cc
HTA green 2.4"
Ebay FMIC
Perrin big MAF
Forge UNOS
Walbro 255
GSC S2 cams
Invidia UP and DP
100% stock STi catback exhaust!!!!!!

Tuning notes:

Was tuned at well known New England shop and driveability was horrible to the point customer didn't want to drive it. Wide open was fine however. We spent 3 hours sorting it out, no mechanical changes.

Perfect stock like idle after lots of tuning even with DW 1000s, cams, and big maf
Full boost at 4200 (damn you lack of AVCS)
10.8 AFR
Conservative timing for 93 pump, not one degree of fine learning in over 20 back to back hotlapping pulls
23 PSI tapering to 21 at redline
Couple pulls as high as 385 when the intercooler was extra cool, 375 was the average, some heatsoaked high 368 pulls as well.

Smooth looking graph Bren for sure....

Is the green a late spooler so to say??

Just curious, looking at around the 4000rpm area making 225ish whp then seems to pick up nicely afterwards.

Just researching some bigger turbo's IE: Green, 18G with 8cm hot side & 20G

This same turbo on an 07 STi I tuned with a Spearco TMIC had 19psi at 3300rpm in 4th gear.

It spools pretty quick. This car has NO AVCS as it's kind of wrx/sti motor swap combo to help spool and has an awkward fmic setup. In this car it comes on full tilt at like 4500 though. Also keep in mind this car has a FULL STOCK STi midpipe and exhaust. It would break 400 and have 300-400rpms better spool with a full exhaust I think.

IMO a Green is a perfect "Street" 2.5L turbo. Stick with the 49+lb wheel club, not a huge difference in spool then say a 18g/20g but lots more top end.

I didn't even notice this until u just reposted it :o....

Yeah I'm sure a full turbo back would help ya 300-500rpm quicker spool all day here.

Thanks for the heads up :)
