glovebox rattle?

So I own a 02 wrx. About a week ago I was driving along, turned my music off, and noticed there was a "rattling" noise. At first I thought it was my tire pressure gauge in my glovebox. I took that out and the noise continued. It sounds like its coming from directly behind my glovebox, but I have no clue what it is. About 30 minutes ago as I was driving back from work it made an "open" rattling noise. Like a more echoed? or resonant rattle. Any clues? maybe its something I can fix before heading to the subaru dealership.

Sounds like something may have fell behind the glove box if thats the case. Check to see if it still has those foam things on the inside of the glove box that absorbs vibration. if not try removing the glove box. glove boxes are very easy to remove. i believe there are 2 screws at the bottom under the box's door, one on the side by the door and 2 inside the box at the top.

took glovebox out, drove for 10 minutes. i discovered its NOT the glovebox, and it only rattles when i let off the gas.

Pretty sure it is considering its linked to when I let off the gas (i think).

see if any brackets or harnesses are contacting your strut towers underhood.

Ha, if only life was that simple.

I do not have an oversized ic, nothing touching strut towers. I searched nasioc for a while, tried removing passenger side a-pillar and taping down clips...have yet to see if it works.
