:(last wednesday my car died on the way home from manchester.....(ironically, on the way home from my graduation from an automotive program).
it began hesitating slightly, then when i stopped to get gas, i went to start it again and it began running like absolute crap, i managed to drive ten minutes down the road before i lost all power and ended up parking it. any suggestions? the exhaust system was really really hot!

which engine/tranny do you have? my car was hesitating pretty bad and generally running like sh** for a few weeks due to the knock sensor. but it never outright died.

if so your light is out!

It sounds to me like your Cat went and it's clogging the exhaust.

Check for CEL's and report back

yes it does, i disconnected the cat to see if it was plugged, car still runs crappy

Could be the fuel pump. thats what happend to my car when it did something similar

Check spark. If spark is okay, then its probably fuel like everyone has said. Could be getting some afterburn if you are pig rich, heat up the exhaust. How does the exhaust smell?

fixed it, pulled the code maf was reading rry rry high- higher than cheech and chong high...........replaced the maf with the one from my 93, it runs and drives fine haha
