i'll save the adventure one for next week so i can research them a lil better (even though i own some)

anyways sorry i said i was gonna post a new one of these yesterday and forgot all about it :unamused:

So i am gonna post this one

What are your top 5 Favorite Real Time Strategies.

I like real time strategies (and currently addicted to one at the moment) cause they allow you to strategize your movements and battle tactics and strike in a very orderly fashion... Kinda like if this was your army and you were at the helm what would you do.
Thats 1 thing i like about them.
another reason is cause i like the fact it has a "Sims" and "Sim City" style Simulation aspect to it as well where you gotta build your army and perhaps a base of some kind to deploy forces from.
So it lets you be as creative as you wanna be.

So yea lets hear them

I don't really have a top 5 as i am still kinda new to playing them myself.

But heres what i got

3.
Red Alert 3 (playing Commanders Challenger from XBOX Live Arcade) (for PC and XBOX360)

1, Age of Empires and the series was an amazing game. The only game i have ever obsessed over.
2, Full spectrum warrior, best 3rd person strategic shooter. You dont shoot, you just move, flank and plan attacks. Its awesome.
3, Empire earth, because it was teh only other strategy game i played.

Was never a big strategy fan, but here's a few of mine:

1. Fallout 1/2 - I know it's not entirely strategy, but with hex based movement and planning out all moves ahead of time, I consider it 1/2 strategy.

2. Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War - Like I said I've never been a fan of strategy, but this game was awesome.

3. Command & Conquer: Red Alert - I loved the original RA. I was never very good at it, but it was a blast to play multiplayer, especially at tech level 1

4. Warcraft 2 - I know, oldschool. But most of my favorite games are oldschool, and I liked this game a lot more than Starcraft.

haha fallout 1/2 was bad ass!
I will also say its part strategy

I never was a fan of real time strategy.. Always got my ass kicked, rofl
But my turn based strategy list would be

fallout 1 & 2 if you wana call it that

Jagged Alliance 1&2 (waiting for 3), all because you can decapitate some one, then toss the head back and forth. I thought that was awesome when I was 11 :palm:

Civilization games, Never played the 1st one, but I remember the good old Civ 2 days quite well

Silent Storm, another kinda strategy game if you wana call it that. I recomend this game to anyone that enjoys turn based squad combat.

UFO Series games. Because I am a dork, and space things amuse me more than orcs and elfs.

and most of all

X-Com Series games. Because am a mega dork and used to get made fun of in middle school for playing it, because I thought it was soo awesome.

Who ever microprose sold the name to should revive it. Seriously...

Can we do fav simulator games after the adventure ones :D

Thats where my computer gaming started back in the late 80s/90s

those were the days. You had to actually search for IP numbers on websites and half the time they were clan servers...

Then a magical thing came out called "Gamespy" which was a god send to early online gamers

Bah, silly noobs. I must have been into gaming long before you guys, because I used to play modem-to-modem Warcraft with my friend, long before we played by IP

I started around the time that LANs were comprised of 10Base5 coax. I remember reading PC Gamer issues that explained how to setup a coax network to play Duke Nukem 3D.
