Well I'm a long time member, but I haven't been around for while because I was in CA for a year. So I decided I wanted to share with everyone what is going on with me after getting back from Cali in Oct.
After two weeks of being back, I crashed my car...

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a318/PogosRose/Joes%20car/DSC03495.jpg

... and well that is sad news :( I have been parting it out ever since, But I kept the STi motor and trans. In the process of putting it into this beast I bought from VA about a month ago!

2005 WRX Wagon!!!
The only bad thing is its not red haha

Here is the mod list I put together from info I got from the 3 previous owners.

71,000 miles on body.
Pro-Tuned by Robbie at EPIC Motorsports in VA, at 18psi putting down 324hp/334tq.
Very conservative tune, there is plenty of power left in it. The guy that owned the car said that on a aggressive tune and on the turbo i could get over 400 whp. and the sti block hold bout 450 whp.

Mod List When Purchased:

STI Short block swap (Sti bottom end/Stock Wrx heads. 30k miles on engine)
Cobb Accessport V2
HKS turbo back exhaust (with custom flat black silverline muffler)
GT Spec Exhaust Manifold
Deadbolt SZ49 Turbo, 7cm
Ultimate Racing Up-pipe with Tial 38mm wastegate
PE 800cc injectors
Samco Inlet
TurboXS intake (with Perrin Big MAF)
TurboXS FMIC (huge core)
Air/Fuel wideband
Blitz turbo timer

PPG Straight Cut Gears 1-4, stock 5th (30k miles)
ACT clutch and flywheel
Sti short shifter

TEIN S-tech springs
Whiteline Swaybars
Sti Brembo Brakes up front with slotted rotors

Dual gauge bezel (one gauge in, cf boost)
STI fog light covers
2.5RS hood
17x8 Hyperblack Rota Boosts
Roof Rail Delete
OEM momo/Subaru shift knob

**That list is already changing though**

We broke down the STi block from my last wagon to make sure everything was ok, and discovered that all 4 cylinders top and bottom were scored exactly the same... I think i know what caused it though, when i was CA the oil feed line to the turbo broke. Pretty sure that starved the piston rings and they scored the cylinders.
Needless to say I'm having the motor bored to 100mm in the next few days hopefully, and some Wiseco pistons to match installed. If the Wiseco pistons I already had are not damaged, then those are going up for sale too. Still get to keep my ARP head studs, King main/ race bearings, and Eagle rods in there though.

I traded the SZ49 turbo for a SZ55 the other day. Picked up a set of used coated PnP Grimmspeed TB, TGV's, and intake mani for super cheap! Also sold the PE800 topfeeds and got a set of Helix 860 sidefeeds.

My 07 STi 6speed is going in because I just sold the PPG trans and the hybrid motor .
Here is the "Under Construction" Mod List:

jcovey2.5
06-08-2010, 01:09 PM
the 2.0 or are you going 2.5?

The motor that came with the wagon had a Hybrid setup (2.5 block w/ 2.0 heads) I just sold.
My 04 STi motor from my last swap, that is at the machine shop now, is going into the wagon. Its getting cleaned and bored out to 100mm

Well after 3 months i finally got my motor back from the machine shop...
It took far far too long even if they were busy!!!

Started getting the tranny and rear diff back in today. As well as taking apart the dash to prepare for the wiring. We will be back at it tomorrow to see what else we can get done!

Ill take some pics before the motor goes in.

jcovey2.5
09-05-2010, 07:07 PM
Well it rolls, but not under its own power...
Finally got it out of the garage though!

http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n65/jcovey21_2006/CGM/IMG00150-20100905-1605.jpg

Motor will be next. Along with trying to figure out how the hell to get the glove box out...
It is somehow stuck shut, and the rest of the dash cant come off until its out.

So is the glove box locked or ?? Drill it out?

Well when i got it the handle was broken and it seemed to be locked. It would not unlock though. So we ripped the lock out to find the metal striker bar that handle latches to is not even there. So i have no clue how it is even staying stuck shut...
I have a spare glove box from the last wagon, so we'll see how long i mess with it before i sawzawl it in half haha

All I can think of now is you scramble'n to find a helmet

if you don't make it intime for this year atleast you'll have plenty of shake down miles on the motor

12-01-2010, 12:15 PM
Well the guy that was working on it had to move to AZ today, so my car didnt get finished...
I had AAA tow it back to my place last night. The motor still has to be assembled, the wire harness has to be merged, and the motor has to be put back in.
I have the ability to work on these things, just not the knowledge. So if any one could help that would be amazing!
I'm out of work again so it makes it even harder to get a job with out a car...
