My airbag light came on yesterday for no apparent reason. Took it to the dealership and after two hours of waiting, I'm home now with a loaner car. Has anyone else had this problem?

I actually had that same problem the other day, still no clue why...

Is your light still on or did it go off? They pretty much told me they had no idea how long it was going to take to fix.

I disconnected my bat. and cleared it. I wasn't working on my car or anything so I'm not sure why it came on. I didn't bump any wires or anything so

This often happens if something gets shoved under the seat and the wire gets disconnected. If they kept the car though, that's probably not the case.

Mine comes on once in a while, but I just shut car off and it goes away on restart. At least you wont have to pay to get it fixed.

it happened a few times with my 04 wrx the plug on the bottom passenger seat wasn't plugged in all the way. I just pushed it together and they light never came back on for a year then I traded it in.

They quizzed me about whether I had recently had the car cleaned or any work done to the seats. Hopefully they find what's wrong instead of using the battery trick :) Maybe there isn't anything wrong with it

I'm interested to see what they find.

That was the first thing I tried and it didn't work :(

I'm enjoying my 09 Forester for now :)

I wish it was easier to see under the seats. Randy and I both tried to look but didn't see anything. Glad it's still under warranty so we didn't take much time to worry about it.

Just got off the phone with the service department and I won't have my car back until the end of next week. They told me they have to order some new harnesses and those are hard to find.

Looks like I'll be enjoying the Forester for a while now.

I really love my warranty :) Good to know how much I'm saving. Add to that $55 a day for the loaner for 7 days ($385  )

I think airbag stuff is covered outside warranty to.....maybe not tho.

Nope, and it's only under the basic bumper to bumper. I brought my 04 in for the light under the assumption (what I was told on the phone) that it would be under the same warranty as seat belts.

It wasn't, and they tried to charge me for an hour of labor after essentially just plugging it in and then going for a drive. Still working out how an airbag sensor requires a test drive. :unamused:

Conveniently, they had only one of two things.

Had: Huge sign saying no work will be done without a signed work order.
Did not have: A signed work order.

IDK what anyone says, subaru has one of the best warranties.
