I'm still in the market for a good tune. I'm running a v1 accessport for now until I get money together but i'm probably going with a bren tune because pro-tunes at shops around here is going to run me around 400 big ones. I've also been debating opensourse tuning but i'm not ready to blow my motor.

I'm also in a toss up because i'd like to run a fmic and 650cc injectors, but i'm afraid my spool will be terrible with my vf30. My goal is a safe 290-300whp with room to spare.

i bought my car with the utec. did exactly that. Went to EFI Logics, got it removed for an opensource!

IMO thats the best way to go...instead of spending 700 bucks on an AP and then another 4-500 bucks for a protune anyways...just seems like throwing money away...:unamused:

Well I'm running an ap1 for now and once I go in for a protune I'll ditch it and sell it pretty much paying for the tune.

Any time it comes to tuning look into the tuner and what he has done and talk to him to see what his comfort levels are with the different tuning options that are out there. Personally i get my parts installed and have a OS tune done for w few hundred bucks. instead of spending 600.00 on a AP and then another few hundred on top of that for a pro tune. At that point you;re almost at 1000.00 for just your tune bud :)

Just installed some foglights :) and rigged them to run with the daytime lights. I'm pumped and within the next month I'll be installing a sunroof. That's a little scary but it's happening

Ahh, actually I just did a rear swaybar w/endlinks. As for winter, i'm going to put my stockers back on and hope she's not too low for the snow. Makes me wish i spend the $ on coilovers.

I like the rear swaybar, but it just feels incomplete without doing the front too. So, tax season i'll be buying front swaybars and the rear heavy duty mounts to complete the car. I think I touched base with every aspect of the car now other than some subwoofers which will be coming soon. I"ve got everything for the system, i just have to build a box. 12" W3 and i'll be doing a ported box.

Nice. Just a tip, If you can find 04-05 rear sway bar mounts they are beefier then the 02-03 guys and are cheaper and work just as good as the HD mounts. :up:

I've got s-tech springs so there shouldnt be any of that. She's stiff, i kinda wish she was a little softer with the bumps i deal with on a daily basis.

I like the 12W3, but not in a ported box. Sure a ported box sounds louder, but it also mushes up the bass. A sealed box built to proper spec and you'll have really crisp bass that still hits hard.

Just installed an sti splitter and had to do a lot of cutting and adjusting but it's definitely going to make a difference come summer time. The exhaust wrap will make the underhood temp very nice.

So today I decided to stop putting this install off because I figured it wouldn't make a noticeable difference with the cars performance and overall feel but, I was very very wrong. I decided to install thishttp://184.72.239.143/mu/47e8d9c5-350a-9e62.jpg

Pretty self explanatory on what went on right there, next is my turboxs 4'' downpipe that has been boiling the coolant In the reservoir right above the turbo. Decided it was about time she got wrapped

I torqued the bracket that goes over the transmission mount too much and can feel every rumble. I'll deal with that tomorrow. I may upgrade that bushing if I find the right price.

I took 4 1st through 4th pulls back to back after letting the car idle for a half hour while letting the wd40 burn off. It exceeded my expectations and definitely think the sti splitter combined with all of the above, I'm finally maximizing my intercooler. I think it's time for an intake and another tune.

Yes, I'd definitely recommend it. Takes the slop out of your transmission.

Well I already had my exhaust off so it was all open, but it was super easy. I was done before I knew it thanks to my new to me electric impact wrench. :) Next Monday I'll be doing a tranny flush, new exhaust hangers, new acc belts and maybe Hellas or swaybar. Idk which one I can get from subimods.

It was either a front sway bar or front lip and for the money I have left to spend on the subie/400+ a week DD and I decided to go with the front lip because
1, I'm drunk
2, I'm Impatient
3, I'm on the highway all day
4, It looks super cool.


Unfortunatly our vendors do not stock the lip that i want so I had to order through ebay but, the one I bought last summer was destroyed via ****ty winter and I loved the look it gave my car with the rims. Its possible I may paint it flat black like my wheels and do carbon fiber side markers but i'll see how it looks when the wheels go on. I'm extremely excited to get my wheels back so i can start giving a crap about what my car looks. PUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going for ROTM this summer, I'll c how it goes.

I'm still waiting on them. Problem is, they are getting done for free and my friends father in law let them sit in an acid bath for a few days so they are down to bare metal now and the guy doing the actual powder coating has to wait until he spray's the color I want to get mine done so the paint doesnt cost anything. It really sucks, just found out the guy doesnt even have them yet. I'm still waiting for a nice dry sunny day to paint my lip too. Tuesday through thursday are my days off and have been rainy.

I seriously hope next week i can get the rims and lip on the car at least and then the week after do my W3 and get my interior speakers amped. Just been busy fixing broken stuff.

Meh, I'd say the stopping power has doubled. I'm going to take some pics of the old stuff. I had to slam my brakes on monday and I think half of the pad broke off which is why my brakes started grinding right after. Bad parts about the sway bar is, on wet pavement and my $65 sunny **** tires i'm losing grip taking turns like a mad man who just put a front sway bar and adjusted my rears to the full 22mm to see how she feels.

Update: Today I installed my Infiniti Reference Amp for my interior speakers and also installed my Kenwood Kicker Amp to power my Oh so sweet, JL audio W3. I thought I would be happy with one W3 but my buddy who's a car audio genius says the amp I'm running works better with 2 subs because right now i'm running 4ohm and you need 2 subs to 2ohm which is what I need. Either way It sounds great now that it has some kick.

Bad News, My crappy old infinit reference speaker in my rear right door is blown so right now i'm only using the front speakers which is fine with me.

WHEELS ARE BEING PAINTED THIS WEEK SO MY PAL SAYS!!!!! Cant wait to see how they come out.

Just added some sweet ass stuff to the ride. Been taking it easy on the modding, but I went to subimods on wednesday to buy myself "a" birthday present and almost $300 later I got some rallyarmor mudflaps (grey logo), silver alternator and radiator cover, Red Hella Supertones (loud as **** they are), perrin Drop in filter, and Calvin hooked me up with 2 subimod Tshirts, and a Subimods Keychain/Flashlight. I was pretty pumped. So, my Modlist has grown. And will be growing again fairly soon.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to cut that black trim behind the license plate to get some more air flow. I still haven't installed the uppipe but once I do I'll be seeing Bren. Hopefully ill see another 25 ponies.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to leave the intercooler core as is, the piping might get powder coated or just heat wrapped. Not sure yet.

Thanks bud. I've been quite ambitious with the car lately. Took me 3 months to decide weather I wanted a set of coilovers, hybrid motor with a 2.5 block, or front mount. I'm happy with my decision, just need to hurry my ass up and get retuned. I'm crossing my fingers in hope of breaking 300whp.

Insurance adjuster is scheduling an appointment today or Monday and I'll know then. Radiator ended up getting hit. Front bumper and hood need to be replaced. I'm guessing around $4k in damage minimum.

Looks like ill have it on Thursday if nothing goes wrong with parts, and front bumper issues. They can't find another Foglight cover so they are getting some new fog lights for me even though they won't fit with the front mount but maybe they could improvise and make it work. I actually dropped my front lip off last night so they can paint it today while they paint the other parts. I told them to paint my hella horns yellow while they were at it.

Getting my car back this week would be a great Christmas present. Keeping my fingers crossed

Bren is the one who really put that in my head. "an ewg kit will turn this thing into a monster" etc..... Etc..... It's the only way to go etc..... Who's down to help me do this install. Not looking forward to removing the turbo for an ewg install. Ugh!!! Can't wait till final results and an actual dyno plot

Decided to stick with a Cobb uppipe after buying a turbo smart ewg. Dummy!! Who wants an ewg??

And my stock gutted uppipe was split in the middle somehow. If I held the flanges it moved side to side

Soo after replacing uppipe with a Cobb upper I'm still stuck only hitting 7-9psi. I did remove my factory iwg and play with it. Probably got turned a few times. Trying to figure this out. Should be boosting at .125 bar which is over 20lbs. Fml. Hits .7 and stays no matter what I set my mbc to. I did change the tubing because I mixed up all the tubing during the install but wtf. Gunna try another iwg off another car and c if mine is set wrong.

Honestly, I want the extra power, but I don't want anymore noise than I already have. I spend a lot of time on the highway and in cabin noise was horrible with the cracked uppipe. Plus, I'm at that point now where expensive things start breaking with more power. I wanna bring my car back to bren and have him make sure my boost is where it needs to be and I'd like to see my final numbers. He said I broke the 300 whp mark with a gutted uppipe, add a Cobb one and I'll be sitting just where I wanna be. 305 and I want more tq. Just enough to throw me back a bit more

One question, are you using s-techs on stock struts? Hows the ride? Are they rough? I like the drop am just concerned with their bad rep.

Yes, stock struts. IMO, its a rough ride once the s-techs fully break in.

Im still w/o boost. I'm thinking I have the wrong size hoses on my mbc or I screwed something up trying to turn it up all the way and having it come apart on me, on the highway in pitch black. Im currently getting 0 boost.

No. I should be running the stock wastegate boost of 7-9 psi but I got nothing. I need to find another turbo to borrow for a few weeks until I get a new one
