This isn't quite a build thread, because all I'm going for is 'stage 2' or whatever, but at least it's something...

So far the motor has a CObb main crank pulley, Perrin silicone y-pipe and TB hose and Afta-maf. Flex Innovations grounding kit (was actually a huge help) a k&n panel filter, and snorkus delete.

Brakes are stock rotors with Hawk HPS's, front and rear, and the Perrin MC brace.

Suspension stuff is really only the big ass beatrush strut brace.

Drivetrain stuff is a Kartboy shorthrow with the silver knuckleball shift knob, and kartboy bushings front and rear. Also have the Beatrush

For looks theres a Cobb turbo heat shield, Beatrush radiator plate, alternator cover and Oil cap. And a kartboy battery tie down.

Outside looks are Rally armor mudflaps and the ill diy lip...love it. So do you...

Inside I have an Alpine IVA-D100 flip-out head unit, and the Buddyclub Secu-timer. Carbon fiber series boost and EGT gauges. And a hazardous red button.

In the living room I have a stock STi exhaust manifold and up pipe. The mani was PnP'd at grimmspeed, and the up pipe is on it's way there. I also have a 3" bellmouth downpipe with hi-flow cat from Injen, and the Maddad whisper, dual 3.5" tip catback all waiting to go in. Also in there is a walbro255 and stock STi intercooler with it's metal y-pipe and the silicone pieces for it to fit me. I also have a Mishimoto alluminum radiator with silicone hoses and a Grimmspeed 160 thermostat that I need to get off my ass and put in next week.

In the mail is a Perrin turbo inlet pipe and some DW injectors. I went with 565's because I know this things not gettting a crazy tune and the 565's will be plenty.

I was also looking at getting the cusco front and rear sway bars with epic engineering springs and kartboy endlinks.

Here's some pic's for now....

Coming up Really soon is a timing belt and water pump (just crossed 116k, i'd say it's time). Then a baseline dyno, and then a good tune. Thanks for reading..if you made it this far...

Did you do the MC brace by itself or with pads? If by itself, how was the difference in feel afterwards?

Ive driven it with and without the master cylinder brace but.. to be honest, Ive never felt a difference... though, I almost never hit boost when Im driving it..

its just kinda... bolted in.. I think we had to move.. something.. to put it in.. fuel filter, perhaps. I think thats just free-floating now.

Any closer pics of it installed? And how you gonna drive it and not hit boost with a td04?

I'll take one sunday before work for you. thats the next time I'll see him/the car. and tbh, my cameras better than his

and I go with the "you break it, you buy it" theory when driving other peoples cars. I suppose I have hit boost, but nothing hard. I honestly can say I dont think Ive hit full boost in it.. you know.. granny shiftin.. not double-clutchin like I should... hahaha..

Well that explains why you never had me, you never had your (bro's) car.

hahaha. couldnt distinguish 04 vs 98? keep that up and I'll steal his avatar and make it that much harder..

but yeah, I made fun of him for putting it in because he was basically stock, with some shiny rubber hoses and decided he needed the MC brace..

I installed the MC brace after the pads. The pads were a HUGE difference, so the MC brace wasn't as noticeable. And having ****ty tires doesn't help the braking much, but I've had to go from 80 to 0 in the fast lane on rt 95 north with 98Wagoon in the car... It stopped quite nicely. I will go out and get a pic in a few minutes for you Ed.

Here's two angle's... The fuel filter is free floating now, but the hoses and clamps are all burly so it's no big deal. It sorta rests on the brace now anyhow, so it's not too floaty. I'm pulling it out of the way for both shots also.

block is in the el'wagoon right now. dropping it off to get pulled apart in the morning. then a trip to a hot tank. then dropped off to the shop to get built....

my goal is to be breaking it in before the end of may.

Seraphinwolf
04-06-2011, 07:32 PM
And injectors?

04Wagoon
04-06-2011, 07:41 PM
engine first. budgets are all budgety. and break in will be done on stock everything. its safer. ive had both the wrx and the fxt (twice) ****ing explode in the past year and a half.

slowly, slowly catches the monkey.

then it gets all injectory and pumpy and hta68y and dump tubey....
