They would look GOOOD on your wagon. :D

It is MUCH better handling than the WRX, even with all the mods I did. The transmission is worth the difference in itself. Auto (-) mode is amazing. With the suspension it feels more solid and the rear wheel bias of the AWD is noticeable. When you lift off the throttle in mid turn, you can get some decent lift throttle oversteer, which would NEVER happen in the WRX.

While this is still stock power wise, it is slower than my WRX. That's only a DP/tune away.

Protect yo' titties...

Got my car clear bra'd on Saturday. He did a real good job and barely charged more than $400 with some custom work.

He did the half of my roof that I always put my bike on to protect it from Highland droppings. It's also where I normally load it, so I won't scratch the side.

I'm glad I did it. The carnage that was on my front bumper from my North Conway trip yesterday showed me it was worth it.

Also just ordered a Skene design plate bracket. I just couldn't force myself to drill into the front bumper.

Lil' update.

I have to take the intake back off the car tomorrow as STi SEs have a different ECU file than the "regular" STis. There is currently no romraider support. Bren has been working hard on it all day, he should be able to flash me with ecuflash instead.

So I'm gonna go see bren tomorrow afternoon and see what we can do, hopefully I will be stage II tomorrow.

BG @ BrenTuning
04-08-2010, 12:47 PM
This will be a base file tune while he acquires more parts. It's a one off ecu ID so we needed to do some troubleshooting prior to the "big day." So no numbers for now until we custom tune it.

Spec B was kind of the same way. But at least the ECU ID and immobilizer is completely different from what I can see. It still inherits alot from the other 2010s.

It just was successfully flashed btw :D

Still retaining the Si right now? Adjusting the throtlebody responce to keep you from over doing it on commuting?

Bren's tunes did alter the throttle response in all of the modes, but I can't drive this car in any thing but S# anyway. I did when I had the intake on (waiting to get tuned) and it was painful.

Just got back from some errands, it's so much better after the tune. :dhgurs:

Once I sell my BBSs, I have an Invidia Q300 exhaust waiting.

Next week I will hopefully get the steering rack bushings in, possibly my kartboy endlinks and perrin sls.

Also the springs I want are RCE yellows which (hopefully) will come out in the next few months. They bunp the spring rate up to 340 f&r, lower it a half an inch, and come with new bumpstops.

My rear sway bar is a perrin 22mm that I had in my wrx. I will probably get another perrin 25 or a whiteline 24mm. The SE has the same size rsb as the 11's anyway.

I mocked it up where it will be and it seems to be in a good position. I also took out the vertical slats, so viewing shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully I'll have some pics of it running tomorrow.

It is much easier on a WRX than on a 6 speed. If you have the right tools and know how your center console comes apart it should be less than a half hour on a WRX. Installing bushings is recommended, but requires the car to be in the air.

There should be some DIY write ups on 3gwrx.com with pics that may help explain it.

Seraphinwolf
04-26-2010, 03:39 AM

there is around 22-24% power loss through the drivetrain to the wheels.

04-26-2010, 05:15 AM
fixed

Seraphinwolf
04-26-2010, 07:10 AM
Well it's more the regulating bodies. They have to base the numbers off something that is a fixed variable. Otherwise all the RWD cars would "apparently" make a lot more power than AWD cars. Aswell an auto and manual trans don't transfer the power to the grown equally. You'd end up having 6 separate ratings amongst the different Impreza trim levels right now.

what does iwsti seat mod mean

The best mod possible for a 2008+ Impreza. It's free, reversible, and easy. Provides much better side bolstering than stock.

Seraphinwolf
04-26-2010, 07:51 PM
We'll see what the 11' offers on the seats. All we know is people in NY said they felt snugger. Could just be they are starting with the tighter bolstering setting. Could mean a lot of 08-10' people will flock to dealership parts departments to order parts to swap that portion of the seats. I just am stocked the All Weather package will have heated seats like the 07' STi Limited's. Weight down, adjustable, and heat.

It has nothing to do with her name, jk , don't beat me. You'd be surprised, it must've been a manchester thing, but there was at least one other girl at St. Anthony's named Ryan and one at St. Joseph's too. Yup, that's me, I went to catholic school, ugh. I went to Catholic school for a few years as a kid too.

Seat mod was done at 100 miles as I had done it in my wrx before. I have my passenger seat normal because Ryan doesn't like "buckets" so it's easy to compare. I could do it for you in probably 5 minutes if you do like it. I still plan on being at the mother's day shoot, possibly with the fam.

He smooths out throttle response in all of the modes. There is weird stuff with how non-linear the pedal is in all of the modes which is fixed. I guess in I mode the throttle body doesn't open up all the way, and he keeps it that way, so you are actually getting slightly less power in I mode.

EL is still good. If I ever wanted to pick up a lil' torque I would probably pick up a nice set of EL headers. I can't wait till someone makes a nice turbo back for a 2010 Legacy GT. The TQ gains that EFI got with just a tune was silly.

On another note, Jake installed my F&R (25mm & 22mm)Perrin Swaybars with Kartboy Endlinks. Same setup I had on my WRX, so it's as great as expected. I confirmed by testing on a couple on/off ramps.

That's exactly what I would do, send him a PM to see if he can get 2010 LGT definitions. I think I asked him about a 2010 N/A Legacy, and I don't think he had anything for those yet.

Hmm... $175 is a lot less than $600. I might be able to handle that!

In all seriousness, I'm *trying* to give it at least a year to see how the modded guys cars hold up with the additional power, given the trans is new, along with lots of other bits. As long as no one blows anything up I may consider it then.

Yes they are. I was torn between 4300k and 5000k. I'm not a fan of the super blue HID's that I see everywhere, and after a bunch of research 4300k provides the most light output. Not to mention it looks the closest to daylight.

I'd love to get some for my JDM Legacy headlights, but I'm supposed to be selling it soon. Can't see investing money in something I'm trying to sell.

I'm looking forward to the cut off pics by the way. If I get to it, I'll take some before and afters when I install mine tonight.

I could see how they'd be bright, they're 55W!

Problem is, more Watts means more heat and a less precise cut off/spread of light. But 6000k doesn't seem that bad in some pictures. I'm just a sucker for pure white light.

And about the ricers....They don't even have HID's. They buy ebay "HID's" that are merely halogen bulbs heavily coated with blue tint/paint.

...But I'm ranting now...

You have to bake the headlight to get it out.

Here is the projector by itself. (not my pics)

Here is after taking it apart.

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/5391/editpreviews.jpg

You bend down that little tab which is supposed to scatter halogen bulbs at street signs to make it easier to read. When using HID bulbs on a 08+ Impreza (or 2010+ Legacy), you bend that down to get a better cutoff.

Again, not my pics, but HID's without the squirrel finder mod:

And with it bend down:

I believe that getting them in 55W also visually lightens the color, as in a 55W 6000k would look closer to a 4300 or 5000k 35W then a 6000k 35W.

Yesterday got some stuff done, thanks to Chris (Racer X):

Re-bled brakes
Replaced ripped intercooler elbow (maybe not needed)
Oil change #3 in 6k miles (gathered sample for Blackstone too)
Put on some new nuts, (yes, they are dirty)

Also realized my Kartboy Endlink bushings were shot, so I've been in touch with Tom and he is getting replacements shipped out to me ASAP. KB

Hey Gary. You should order yourself a 2011. I wouldn't mind taking your car off of your hands :hide:
