Keith, I know where there is a white supra just sitting in a garage right now, could probably snag their fender without much notice...

Also, why did you take out the harnesses, they were so much fun!!!

-GWOOD-

The Harnesses took up a bunch of space in the back and didnt match the interior, the stock seatbelts are much more effecient :)

The harness wasn't that comfortable unless you were like 70lbs...

There not too hard to find when you know where to look for them ;) She will be getting some major work done in ~2 years(Single Turbo). But for now its getting simple stuff done, The car is almost pushing 110K miles and mechanical parts are bound to start failing here and there. Not the motor tho, thats bullet proof ;)

Totally top dog in the import world, and def could be referred to as an import unicorn, ESPECIALLY in the north east region. Much like a Nissan GT-R. These are two dream cars for me and will probably always remain just that, dream cars. And if you get the right supra, with the twin turbo V6, yeah, that's rare, so its expensive. Love these cars. Most 6cylinders with TT's are pretty sick but I'd have to say a H6 and I6 are tops!
So what's up next for the car anyways besides the constant fight of keeping miles off the car while wanting to do all the driving in the world that would put those same miles on it?

Its not neccessarily the 2 Turbos vs 1 But the 2 Stock very restricted Turbos vs my aftermarket fairly large unrestricted higher flowing than stock turbo :) Due to new technology (Billet Design) i will have full boost sooner with this turbo rather than my stock Twin turbos. Should see Full boost between 3500-4000Rpms. The Japanese in 93 had a great idea but like all technology its out dated and there are better things out there. If i get a quick spool valve i can get full boost probably by 3000 rpms.

Single Turbos are cheaper then aftermarket Twin turbo set ups because obviously you have 2 of everything with Twins =$$$ Twin Set ups have a better low to mid range power vs the Single which hits at the top and it hits Hard. The record for Supras Hp is with a Twin Turbo setup, its actually two of the turbos i have  1760Rwhp All Boost. Majority of Supras are single turbo tho due to their cost and less complicated setups and i prefer a single due to the tone in the exhaust, they are much different.

Today i was able to remove the actual Intake Manifold. I had a few things that held me up like the EGR pipe so i removed the fuel rail without disconnecting the fuel line and was able to get the EGR bolts off and off the Manifold came, WHAT A Pain in the ASS. Putting it back together should be great fun. Tomorrow i might start with tearing down the head, Almost at the halfway point!

Today i was able to remove the Timing Belt, Valve Covers, Coil Packs, Cam Gears and Cams. There was a ton of oil and crap underneath the Coil Packs. The Hoses on the Valve Cover were cut by me because im getting new ones and it made it easier to remove the Coil Packs. I just grabbed the Tool from my friend Pat (19pjbsupra97) to remove the headstuds. So tomorrow i will remove the head studs and then remove the head :spin:

Yep, every possible seal, except anything in the block itself, thats the only part im not tearing down. The added stress of the Single Turbo is whats making me redo the seals in my high mileage motor.

Halfway with my Supra Project. Removed the Head tonight. Pistons have some carbon build up on them (115,XXX miles) but the cylinder walls are smooth and everything looks great for the mileage. Some oil dripped from the head into the #2 Piston so there wasnt anything bad happening there. Going to see the machinist tomorrow but dont plan on having the head back until January.

I will be sandblasting my Valve Covers on Sunday and painting them black. Interesting work on the manifold!

Yea im not sure if im going to keep it like that. The only other option is to cut 6 smaller strips and wrap the tubular part which there isnt much and would take a bunch of locking ties.

Yah updates! This gonna be back together for a spring dyno day pull?

She should be running by the end of February. Not sure if im going to Dyno tho because i will be running off the Wastegate Spring (~10PSI) on the OBDI Maf. We shall see.

It Varies but from what ive seen others do it should be in the 480-525rwhp range. But on the Wastegate spring in it now and no Stand Alone EMS im not sure what to expect. The AEM is taking longer than expected.

Their stuff is Heat Coated and I dont see them driving their Soups 7 days a week. The main reason is keeping under hood temps down due to driving it Daily. I like to do things overkill :)

Today with the help from a friend we were able to make a huge push to get the soup somewhat put together. Head/Cams/Cam Gears/Valve Covers/ Intake Manifold(Not the Chamber)/ and the fuel rail are all installed. 10 hours of fun. We took our time and did it right. I might install the rest of the Intake Chamber/ Throttle Body on my next day off along with the oil feed and return line.

If I remember your turbo setup right, a G-force ECU won't really be necessary. A VPC/S-AFC2 will do wonders over the MAF at anything over 1bar though. You can barely see light through the MAF, let alone suck 500whp worth of air through it. Call Wicked, I think they have a VPC sitting on the shelf. The MAF will work, but you need a fuel controller before you even plan to make any boost. The stock MAF curve is not designed for a turbo that flows 50% more then the stock pea shooters and will run lean on the top end. I may be switching to a V2 myself if I get motivated enough, and if that happens I'll sell you the V1 with a GM 3bar if you're interested. It'll be a lot less then a full boat V2 setup for sure. You'd only have to buy the ~$60 GM IAT sensor.

I had a VPC/Emanage/Gforce setup on my old car for over a year and it worked awesome up to 29psi. I wanted more so I switched to AEM. But as long as you're not too greedy the VPC/AFC2 setup is the way to go if you're on a budget.

I definately see it to be perfect for my setup right now on my budget, im looking to run just shy of max boost on pump on stock fuel so prolly 16 psi or so. I will have to buy the VPC/S-AFC2 with tax returns possibly. Farooq in Nashua with the Black Supra said he has his old stuff for sale, i believe he said you tuned his car on the 61mm on meth/built motor/280 cams that he ran last year. So if he is trust worthy i might get all of his old stuff minus the G-Force.

If you have your v2 by winter thats when i should have a new DD and be looking for an AEM.

OVRBST

Farooq changes his setup more then he does his underwear..... He's a good guy though. The VPC/AFC2 will work fine and makes good power since it uses the stock computer's timing maps which are pretty aggressive. The knock control on the factory ECU is awesome so as long as you're happy with 14-16psi, you'll be fine. Anything over that and the motor tends to rely more on the knock control then I like to see. Add some race gas and up the boost to 25psi and you'll make equivalent power to an AEM. Problem then is you'll find yourself banging off the crappy 6800 rpm limiter ALL THE TIME.

Booo 6800rpms. Id rather hit off the rev limiter alot versus not being able to boost it tho. Ok so now im 100% set on getting the VPC/AFC2. I did some research on it a few days ago. Though it doesnt seem like the most complicated to hook up i would rather pay someone to do it right and then of course tune it :wiggle: I read that you can eliminate the MAF completely so i will have to make my Ghetto MAF Intake for now and have the 4" on the ready

The only thing the VPC does is replace the MAF. It does nothing else. You couple that to a fuel controller (GCC/AFC/Emanage/etc) to tune the new MAF curve you are now simulating.

Wiring is a snap with only about 6 wires in total to splice/interrupt.

Everything you need to know.... http://mkiv.com/techarticles/vpc/vpc.htm

Ya i read through that the other day a few times. The plumbing for the vaccum hoses seems doable but my lack of electrical skillz (there is none) is what makes it intimidating. We shall see, i messaged Farooq on how much he wants to sell all of his stuff for minus the G-Force.

Where is Spofford, NH?

I could give you a hand wiring up the VPC/SAFC sometime this month. The GCC isn't the same as the SAFC, the GCC allows incremental fine pitch adjustments over RPM vs. the course adjustments of the SAFC. I used to own a GCC coupled to my EVC II.

Its not the best manifold out there, the $1,500-$2,500 manifolds have the turbo turned away from the head to make more room for large compressor housings. I just need a 45 degree elbow to go down between the strut tower and loop around underneath to the core, it will work, you will see :)

The S-AFC is a much better fuel controller then a GCC. Remember the car is in closed loop below 4K which means the first two knobs on the GCC are useless. That leaves you with 3 knobs to control 3K worth rpm, 0-100% throttle and 0-28psi load. Not a lot of resolution if you ask me. Pointless post I suppose seeing you have an S-AFC :)
