+1 the employee's really don't care about the customers from my experience. Every time I go I feel unwanted :dunno:

I've never had an issue with other shooters other than the one's who don't know what they're doing, they scare me.

Its interesting you say that, it seems lately that ID's are the new shields. It used to be to carry in every state that you needed a badge, now you just need an ID. I guess the figure anyone can get a badge, not everyone can get an ID.

I see what you saying but as long as i get my discount and ammo i dont really care if they think if i matter or not. If enough of us go and fill up the lanes, the less scary non-experienced/unsafe shooters will be surrounding us. :)

Is there ammo lead/****ty/expensive or all of the above. My dute glock can not handle lead rounds, and im not putting another barrel in, they are $100 a pop. Also note its 17$ for 50 rounds of .40 in MA.

there's a Walmart right down the street. They charge $12.85 for a box of 40 .380 and the range charges $25 for the same box.

Let me guess no steel core or steel jacketed ammo, nothing bigger 44 win mag or something to that effect. Im not planning on blowing away my JHP's. Im all set with that, im just going to shoot a value pack or something along those lines... wooohooo for 50 state carry permit.

5. May I bring my own ammunition to shoot there?
Yes, but only to shoot in your own guns, subject to certain restrictions. You must purchase our range ammunition to shoot in our rental guns.

6. What restrictions do you have on ammunition shot there?
You may not shoot any cartridge with a muzzle velocity faster than 2000 feet per second. Armor-piercing, tracer, and incendiary ammunition is strictly prohibited. Shotguns are restricted to slugs only. If in doubt about your specific gun/ammo combination, you must ask an employee before shooting.

7. Can I bring my AR-15, AK/SKS, or .308 rifle to shoot there?
Yes, however you must purchase our special frangible ammunition. Regular ball, hunting, and commercial/LE/military frangible ammunition is too fast to shoot at our range.

8. What about my .30-06 or 7.62 x 54R rifles?
No, those calibers are not allowed.

9. What about my BB or pellet guns?
Lead .177 caliber pellets may be shot here. Steel pellets, or BBs of any sort are not allowed, for safety reasons.

The only problem i have is rule 7. But i understand, their range is only rated for a certain speed. I think im good though im fresh out of 180Grain 40 that can reach speeds of 2000FPS.

I've always had good service there. Of course when I first started shooting I was going weekly. Can't afford that anymore, time or money wise. I haven't been shooting since Christmas time and the time before that was prob. last summer. My skills are going to hell, I was real mad at how much my skills had degraded. Oh well. Ammo might come down someday.

even if it said that on the box, they wont let you use it. It must also be frangible. that said, they charge $22 for 50...

Mike
03-25-2010, 09:08 PM
Ammo in Manchester doesn't need to be frangible. I've shot FMJ and JHP every single time I've gone there without issue. All they sell for pistols is standard FMJ (though if you have deep pockets I suppose you could buy carry rounds to shoot there...).

Ahh my bad. I guess their new range (going in where the Sears service center used to be) will be able to take anything. Supposed to open this spring I think. I don't own any rifles other than a 22 and a 12 ga., but someday I want an AR and it'll be nice to shoot it indoors since the weather tends to suck so much.

moneys money to a business.. which, is unfortunate for people who are trained/professionals, or at least serious about learning..

they should have a day or two a week where you have to have a license or be a licensed professional in some way to give normal humans a chance to actually shoot without wondering if the upper-middle class white "gangsta" on the line next to them is going to touch off a round through the wooden divider.. :unamused:

search button, noob! jkjk.

you pay to rent the lane hourly, then by the half hour after that. $13 for the first hour and whatever discounted price it is after that for those of us with ID's. as opposed to $16. its in Manchester, same exit as the airport, so a good 30-45 minute ride from hampton depending on how feisty you are on 101. targets depends on what style and how many you buy.. they have my favorite "blue guy", the b-29 silllhouette target, so Id get 2 or 3 of those depending on how much you want to shoot. the walmart, I have no idea, actually. Im probably bringing my own rounds. I have a winchester white box of 100rnds I can go through

hope to see some others there!

You guys are planing on being there for 4 still?

After looking at their rental prices I think I'll come out too. They're pretty reasonable... I know the ammo is where they're going to gut me... :o

I've always wanted to shoot an MP5. ;) Or I might get a standard semi-auto pistol with those laser sights they mentioned... Oooh pretty!!:spin::lol:

Mah names Craig. I'm short-ish, long-ish (for a dude) brown hair. Red SVX should be in the parking lot. I'll be waiting for you guys to show up before I go in and rent because I don't really know what a good gun is, so some direction from the pro's will be nice (I've heard not to trust the clerks/employee's opinions there... ;)

MP5's are a blast. they are a lot of fun on full-auto. lasers and tac light are over rated inless its dark.

Not sure what you're asking in that question... Their website isn't overly informative unfortunetley.

They rent machine guns, so I don't see why you couldn't bring your own to shoot... though if I remember correctly its illegal to own a full auto weapon...?

For the M60:
Belt fed machineguns may include: M60, Russian RPD. By Appointment only.

GPS makes sense.

I wasn't ACTUALLY going to rent the laser sight... I was making a joke, since I figured they would be useless...:o

Plus what little kid doesn't want to play cops 'n robbers with a laser-sighted pistol??!!

its not illegal in MA. if you have a license or are friends with an FFL who sells them, who is willing to bring it to NH :)

Oohhh. Cool. DIdn't know it was legal in MA.

I just know in NH you have to buy it as a semi auto rifle, then buy the kit to make it auto... the gun is legal, and the kit is legal, but put them together and not so much legal anymore...:spin:

Not sure if that's allowed or not then. Maybe for the person WITH the extended license?

You never had the nerf toys as a kid with the red light on the top?!

Man that's a disappointing childhood! We used to turn the lights out and hunt each other.

Or laser tag. That was a good time!

yeah i would not worry about it. Ive got a 50 state carry ID, the only thing i cant own is a class 3 weapon like machine guns. There are very few people in MA. that have Class 3 weapon permits. They are very hard to get.

Oh ok. Yeah I think there's 1 or two people on this forum with that, they were discussing how hard (and expensive!) it is to get.

How do you have a 50 state permit? Are you a police officer? Some states (like NY) do not issue non-resident permits at all so I don't know how you otherwise could.

I have a NH and MA permit, but no longer use inless buying a firearm.

Also note UTAH permits cover 30 states (WA,MT, ND, MN, IN, OH, PA, VA NH, VT, ID, WY, SD ,NE MO, KY, WV, VA, NC, GA, TN, AL, MS, AR, FL, OK, TX, NM, UT, AZ.), also it is illegal to have any hollow points of any kind in your firearm while in NJ, inless you are hunting. I think police officers have that exception. Because in order for me to carry in states that i do not posses a permit, I must be carrying my Police Issue firearm, that I qualified with, and it must contain duty issued hollow points. I dont plan on going to NJ anytime soon, but if i ever do ill double check that law before I arrive.

Damn, I was hoping I had missed some way to get non-res. permits in some of the worthless states like NY. I'm driving out to MI this summer and wanted to bring a pistol (MI honors any permit), and according to federal law, I am able to transport a pistol so long as it is locked in a case inaccessible from the driver, but I've read horror stories about NY and MA not honoring this law, even though I don't think it's technically legal to do that (even so they can tie you up in trials for ever...) and none of my pistols have <10 round mags, so that'd be in issue in MA and NY. At this point I'm thinking I'll either need to overnight it to PA where I'll be stopping the first night or just not bother.

alot of states only allow you to bring a shotgun across borders, i would just leave it at home. unless you have the intent of doing something with it?

The NH permit is good in many states, but NY and MA aren't among them. The plan would be to carry while on vacation in Michigan. As for shipping, I'd be sending it to myself technically, but I'm not sure if that's legit or not, I need to do more research on that. Even if that is an option, I'll probably not bother, overnight shipping would likely run $70 each way. $140 is a good chunk of cash to carry for a long weekend.

should be me and gaddis there for 4pm, also! fat guy with an OBS and probably a subaru hoodie. and tall lanky weirdo that looks like he'd be called Gaddis in an SVX

ummmm.. Full-auto is legal in NH if you get the tax stamp. they MIGHT have an m249 at the line range, but same as the m60 you have to make an appointment. I WISH I could rent/shoot the ma-deuce. hahahahaha.. aaand if you've never shot anything I can help guide you to a friendly pistol to rent that will be manageable and still fun. and between legacygt and I we can give you a quick and easy run-down of safe handling of a firearm.

see you guys tomorrow! well.. later today...

I'll be leaving for this soon. I'll be arriving early.

Unfortunetly I will only have to cash to rent and shoot a pistol (and pay for the ammo)... :( I wanted to try the MP5 but another time. If anyone has anything different they'd be willing to let me try, get there a little early like me and we'll run down to wal-fart and I'll pick up the ammo tab. Should be alot cheaper than getting it at the place, but unfortunetly if I rent I HAVE to buy THIER ammo.

See you guys soon!

Can you quote federal law chapter and section on that?

i`m pretty sure you only need an FFL if its not registered to you and your having it shipped somewhere because you have no active reg on it.

NOTE: IF ever in doubt contact the State Police in the state you are traveling to, they will give you all the info you need.

Mike as I always say if you need a gun you probly should not be in that area, it makes it easy to avoid bad situations. For the headache it could cause i would leave it at home. Im pretty sure round capacity does not matter, I have a high capacity permit and can carry in NH, VT, well actually all 50, but if i were just to use my NH and MA permit i could carry my Glock which holds 15 rounds plus one into states that may not allow residents to have high capacity firearms. Maybe im not following you here.

Im not gonna go full +1 on this.. but Im leaning towards it. its no different from going on a hunting trip and shipping yr rifle out beforehand. my uncle does it every year when he goes hunting in Montana. the FFL I think is only required, as stated, for purchasing. it needs to go to a dealer first, so they can call the appropriate people/run background checks/blahblahblahblah.

if you have matching days off with me this week we'll go to the gun shop and you can try a few on for size.. that will help you figure out what yr style is and what you want out of the weapon.

as I previously stated...
