so i was drving to portland yesterday then i noticed the abs light turned on. this didnt really bother me. then when i was riding my bike back getting followed by the car i noticed the passenger headlight was dim. when we flip to high beam the passenger headlight goes out. also the tail lights and fog lights are not functioning. the break lights and blinkers still work.
i guess i need a wiring diagram.
i think this would definitely fall into an electrical issues forum. it covers many systems.
It may be a charging issue? Try checking the alternator connections for corosion, maybe. I remember when I had charging issues on one of my cars all kinds of dummy light would randomly come on. Worth a shot.

ok but the car drove all the way back from portland to orono w/o getting any dimmer.

Yeah, that is strange. I'll put that think-tank on and see what else I can come up with.

The ABS warning light is a seperate circuit coming straight from the abs module. I highly doubt the abs light has anything to do with the dimming of the light. I think thats more of a coincedent.
As for the headlight cutting out, my guess woudl be a faulty relay. Try swapping one headlights relay with the other and see if this happens with the other headlight. If not, im outta guesses

check ur battery is the charging system is bad it will slowly cut off loads to keep the motor running (much like the blood system on someone going into hypothermia slowly closes off flow to exterior limbs) if the battery doesnt hold enough juice this could very well be ur problem. check charging voltage and if good maybe go to a shop that does free multipoint inspections and ask to make sure they check ur battery. hope that helps

so time to update what i have figured out.
the tail lights were a popped fuse easy fix.
the RH headlight had a popped fuse installed new one and still no change.
i tried flipping the relays this showed me something interesting. when i pull the RH relay nothing happens but when i pull the left both lights go out. so know i know there is a short between the two systems i just need to find it.

with the headlights on, try fiddling with the connection on the headlight bulbs themselves. sounds like the terminals may be loose/poor contact.
