I'm curious. Maybe if people tend to buy from a shop / retailer more often than others, we could get them to sponsor NES and perhaps give discounts to us. :dunno:

So, VOTE!

So far all the tires i have bought have been on this website. before subies, I bought them at BJ's. free mounting rotating, and balancing for the life of the tire.

Every set of tires I've personally bought has come from the Rack of Tires. Then down to the local GM garage since they're the closest place to my house for the mounting/balancing.

Tire rack here. nice price, and great customer service. don't order online, though. Call and talk them down. :)

Yeah. I'm looking at Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08. MUCH cheaper than the garbage OEM tire for the '04s...but still mad expensive. :( Oh well. I'll give them a call. I didn't know they were negotiable over the phone. That's a protip right there.

Why that specific tire. I have a deal for you if you are looking for some sweet tires in the stock size. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hankook&tireModel=Ventus+R-S3&partnum=54WR7Z222XL

Tire rack here. So far, they've been able to beat every other place out there. When I got my Blizzaks, they had a rebate thing going on so I ended up getting $50 back so with that they were able to beat TFT. I take my tires to TFT to get M&B though because I know the asst. mgrs for 2 locations.

Biggest reason was the review of the wet handling. Unfortunately, here in New England, we get a LOT of rain. :( Otherwise I'd go with track tires.

Thanks all for your input! I ended up going with the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec from Tire Rack. Townfair was going to discount the tires themselves, but only if I had them installed at their location. The install fee was much more than Manchester Subaru charged, so no dice. They tried to entice me with a "free" front wheel alignment. If I had a front wheel drive car, that would have been cool. :unamused:

Ok, since over half the people voting chose Tirerack.com, here's what I did:

I wrote to the sales manager of Tire Rack to see if they would offer us either a seasonal group buy (twice a year), or better yet a link with a discount built in for Tires, Wheels, etc. Hopefully, if they are open to the idea, we can get them as a sponsor and receive discounts. I'll post back here with the results. Hopefully we can work something out, since this is actually a pretty active forum for being "small".

tirerack.com. Outstanding customer service. I had purchased four M&S tires for my pickup and one would not balance well. They sent me a another no charge, no questions asked with a prepaid return shipping label.

warehouse up in Windsor. I don't think they will transfer stuff there free though, so it has to be in stock at their CT location if you want to pick it up

I just checked them out...I go there next. I simply need t-rated, directional..and symmetry..extremely common size. They got an offer I would not refuse.

thats basically what drove me to them. aside from how much I really really liked the wheels that I bought. along with the tires. the free shipping is a definite plus. especially the replacement plan they have

I'm curious to see how this pans out.

I can tell you that on an Audi forum I just joined, they don't do much for discounts. Tire Rack sponsors them, and has a rep that joins the forum, but they simply relay the current promotions the site provides. Would be nice if they gave a certain percentage off to members.

But it would be nice to see some sort of group buy/discount setup. I need new tires soon...

John & Son's tires in Manchester NH. The prices installed are the same as tirerack.com shipped in the three cases I have bought.

He got me a set of 4 Continental Extreme Contacts DWS recently that every one else said was national back order including Tirerack.com.

I normally go to a local guy, but Robs link above was too attractive this yr. $350 shipped for my Hankook Ventus V12 EVO's in a 225-45-17 after mail in rebate ($50) and free replacement. I received them today order last thursday.
