Hello, Am sure you've seen me whoring my self around the past month, and it dawned on me.. I haven't really posted any subaru related content.. Mostly because my wagon's engine shat the bed when I decided to **** around in a cul ve sac on newyears eve.. You can find this video of me destroying my wagon on youtube.. because of my awesome coworker who said he wouldn't, uploaded the video to the internets. I never said I was an intelligent person...

Anyways, we are assuming the engine spun its main bearing.. my engine sounds like this.. squeaking and all(not my car and or video I was talking about)

any ways.. about 1k after spending money on Tokico D-spec adjustable shocks, a rear hub assembly (rear driver tire has +4 camber), front control arm, wheel bearings, and throwing on the h-techs I bought in the summer. After driving home the engine took a turn for the worse.

So... the rebuild begins..

Taco said hes gana come by and help me tear it apart, then I can finaly get it to a machine shop to get the heads and the sti block to be worked on

Now I got to build up a list of what parts am going to go with. I may do a STI turbo for right now.

However tyler wants to clean out my garage, I have alot of old crap in there that either came from my mom or dad, or dead relatives.

Taco just appeared out of the blue at my house yesterday, deal is if he helps me clean it, he can use it when ever. So after 60 bottles of used oil, 4 used batteries, bunch of old books, clothes, and random stuff in avon boxes that we dumped into a good will clothing bin, and moving stuff to the garage attic, we made a small dent in it lol
We found a bunch of old crap yesterday. My old shifter from my 86 cellica supra that am putting in the wagon, wood grain ftw!!


Maybe I'll take some pictures tonight of the engine on the stand, the still messy garage, and a bunch of mouse crap

The 2.5 block that I had was really bad, Rob and Pete convinced me to get a new 09 sti short block. I am still deciding if I should spend the money on a VF39 or its 07 counter part, or just spend the coin to get a HTA68 that I will eventually will do anyways.

I have an eye on a STI oilpan w/ baffle, along with thinking about ordering a Perrin Fuel rail system from Subimods

I am almost to the point where I am going to give my tranny a middle finger before it has the chance to give me one, and just get the HTA68

Take that 5 speed!!

Also with this post its been 9 months 9 days sense I really DROVE my car

I am not counting the time where I drove it back from rokkits house, and discovering i spun a bearing sense the "mishap"

What made you decide to do the fuel rails? I've been researching this quite a bit lately but might just end up modding my OEM rails to be parallel to keep it on the cheaper side.

Wanted to go parallel, dont want to lean out and destroy my investment any time soon.. If I did that I think I just say F cars and find a Chevy/Suzuki Tracker/Sidekick that I know I can run 2 quarts low and beat the crap out of it and not have it break :lol:

I was building out a setup with aeromotive rails/fpr and braided lines with -an fittings... holy crap it got too expensive fast.

Yeah EFI has their own fuel rail kit, but its in the 4 digit range of price

I got my AP Fuel rails for around $300
figured it wasn't too bad, whats really going to hurt me and set me back is going to be a brand new spankin turbo. I cant see my self buying an older turbo for a brand new engine.

If I did that I might as well use used pistons and a shortblock

Art, here are some of the threads I've come across on parallel rails and setting up your own. I'm pretty sure it's slightly different for WRX rails vs. STI rails as the fpr is on the end of one of the rails on a WRX. So generally you have to use a second set of oem rails and an adjustable fpr.

The basics are that you tee the fuel delivery line and route those lines to the front of the rails, then the return lines out the back of the rails go to the fpr and back to the factory return line.

Before you see the picture, I had no idea what Rob was doing down at EFI
Infact! He was hiding stuff when ever I came to the shop so I wouldn't see the intake manifold, etc. Rob went out of his way to make this look the way it is and stayed late one night cleaning the hell out of the engine. Rob is the man, and if your looking to get an engine built go see him at EFI. This guy is a freaking genius!!

It is, though Rob spent a night grinding the metal down that gives this etched gloss look, hard to explain and the picture dosn't do justice. I still can't believe its my engine


For the install time, I am shooting before thanksgiving. Maybe next weekend? Soon as I confrim some things ill post a date, people are welcome to come over, drink beer, and all cuddle togeather in the gerage so we can all stay warm.
