my last car before suby was in 1996...have had nothing but 90hp masterpieces ever since, only 3 of them.
the car was a well beaten monte carlo SS.Black as the ace of spades. no stickers. Beaten is prerequisite to hacking tranny crossmember for the full hooker dual headers and 350 with nearly closed chambered heads..the 'one off' cam handed to me....to go along with the 2.73 LSD, sipping through a holley.

6000 rpm == 165 swaying mph. The speedo was hilarious. it had the older ss 115mph, but kept going all the way around...with no place to peg out to.

..and I did it just once...and sold it.
the back ends of those had a small tail fin, that one trip cracked both ends symmetrically....via wind only.:eek:

the genius of 3 main boxers has me sold more than ever.

1985 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, had the 4.1 slug in it
1992 Pontic Firebird with a beastly 305 tbi, slush box, and 2.73 rear gears
1995 Vw Passat Vr6 5speed, this thing was awsome, even though it leaked from everywhere and had 230k on it
1987 Chevy Camaro IROC 350 5 speed, was a project car, it was junk
1998 VW Jetta 2.0 5speed, motor went on the third day I had the car, then where the subframe mounts to the car rotted out, scrapped it
2001 Dodge Dakota sport, 3.9 5 speed, best car ever, still have it, will get a viper motor when its posistion as daily driver is filled

I also bought a 2001 Hyundai Accent 1.5 5speed for $1, Mass wouldnt let me register because it had a salvage title and they came up with a ton of bs. :unamused:

Don't ever buy one though! steel pushrod motor only holds about 10lbs of boost and the ECU is impossible to crack.

For most of highschool I had a 1988 F-150. 302 V8, 5 speed, 4x4 with a swapped in tape deck (it came with an AM only radio!) so I could use the cool kid cassette adapter on my velcro'd to the dash discman:

I somehow didn't learn my lesson with GM and bought a 2003 Silverado next. It had the 4.8 V8 with an automatic and 4WD. With the intake, exhaust and programmer it was pretty entertaining to drive, as long as all you had to do was accelerate in a straight line, or do burnouts (NO traction with that thing).

1993 Dodge Caravan -- I was wicked hot driving to the beach in this thing. My parents still have it and it's even more ghetto now... the passenger door is screwed shut because it won't latch, the windows won't roll down and you can't open up the sliding door. Plus, during a wind storm (which is frequent where they live in Texas) a piece of their barn snapped off and flew into the windshield. It's legal in Texas to drive with a broken windshield.

1997 Nissan Sentra GXE -- I got this one after Dan decided the Pontiac wasn't safe anymore. I couldn't go with him to pick the car up so I told him if it was a good deal just to buy it and I'd see it later. He did. I ended up loving this little car (and still miss it!) but I knew it wasn't going to pass inspection again. We bought the thing for $1600, dumped less than $1500 into it the 2 years I owned it and got $1500 for a trade-in. I'd say I got my moneys worth, Dan found me a really good deal! :D

My car before this was a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo. I literally drove it into the ground. 120,000 miles which really isn't much considering. Engine and drive train still ran perfect. I did oil changes every 3k religiously and from 75k miles I used that high milage stuff, always K&N oil filters. I swore I'd keep it till the day I could no longer drive it. Last January I bought 4 new tires for it, then the transmission blew in March. New transmission, then in April it needed brakes all around. Then in August I tried to get it inspected. One time when it was towed, the tow driver hooked the rear end in the wrong spot and severly bent some bars. So it was going to cost $3000 to inspect a car worth about $1000.......HELLO SUBARU!!!!! Blessing in disquise.

I drove a 2004 Chevy Impala LS. Bought Brand new.. had 36 Miles on it when I drove it off the lot.. 4 and a Half years later I traded it in with over 125,000 miles on it. I miss the car.. Still ran like new.. Oil changes every 3-5k miles. Had a brake job done once, at 105k miles, New set of Tires at 80k Miles. Never had any issues with it.. Still had 32+ MPG Hwy when I traded it in last march. Had Deep tinted windows 14% on it all around. Slightly Illegal in CT, but I didnt care lol.. Bought my 08 Subaru Impreza 2.5I Hatchback 5spd.. Love the car.. Had it tinted to 14% all the way around as well, but some rookie cop pulled me over for it.. had to take the tints off.. Haven't re-done them yet.

yeah... it took WAY too long... and even when I went 'stage 2' on the blower, it still made only roughly 200wtq ... yay honda! .... but revving out to nearly 9k was pretty fun, and it was a nimble car

Yeah, the SC guys are hitting those #s on the 3" pulley w/ I/H/E/flashpro, thats where I was at before i traded it in for the STI.

Haha yeah... I met him when I first moved to MA, before he started working up at Scotts. They did all of the work on my Si up there.

Yeah, I had the flashpro pretty much as soon as it came out but bailed right when people started getting real good with it
