You've all heard this story before, but I'm going to tell it again. Using LearningView Brendan found that I had a leak. Surprise! I replaced the hose between my intercooler and throttle body, checked my y-pipe, replaced my air filter, cleaned my MAF, and headed down to get a custom tune.

The base map was far more drivable than the Cobb Stage2 map. Boost felt smoother, the car felt more drivable, slightly more responsive (that could be in my mind, though), and performance at the limit felt near the same.

My custom tune is a different story. The car is very smooth around town and in mixed driving conditions. But when you get on her, she pulls very nicely now! We did a couple pulls in third and fourth gear, and the difference was instantly noticeable. There's just no comparison.

When I get my FMIC installed, I plan to grab a manual boost controller and have Brendan tune again for those mods. I'm extremely happy with his work, and I'm even happier that my car played nice for him. If anyone is looking for an Open Source tune, schedule some time with Brendan.

You know, I'm getting sick and tired of hearing "Oh, I had Bren tune my car now it's way better and the AP is a waste of money. The car is damn near perfect now with so much power, and all for so little money".

Oh wait, I guess that's not bad at all...

Yeah, I heard you need a VERY specific ECU for your car to get tuned. That sucks.

My car needs a seafoaming and new plugs. Oh, and the battery needs a good replacing...since it's the original OEM battery...from '04.

Ooh, I would, but since AP's are so application specific it wouldn't work for me. Sorry guy, I guess I will just have to tell the story that I read up on it first, and saw Bren right away!

Congrats on getting away from the accessport and on the new found power. Now that it's getting warm out I plan to pick a Cobb sf airbox and getting down to see Bren very very soon myself.
