You've all heard this story before, but I'm going to tell it again. Using LearningView Brendan found that I had a leak. Surprise! I replaced the hose between my intercooler and throttle body, checked my y-pipe, replaced my air filter, cleaned my MAF, and headed down to get a custom tune.
The base map was far more drivable than the Cobb Stage2 map. Boost felt smoother, the car felt more drivable, slightly more responsive (that could be in my mind, though), and performance at the limit felt near the same.
My custom tune is a different story. The car is very smooth around town and in mixed driving conditions. But when you get on her, she pulls very nicely now! We did a couple pulls in third and fourth gear, and the difference was instantly noticeable. There's just no comparison.
When I get my FMIC installed, I plan to grab a manual boost controller and have Brendan tune again for those mods. I'm extremely happy with his work, and I'm even happier that my car played nice for him. If anyone is looking for an Open Source tune, schedule some time with Brendan.
