I think that engine weighs a couple hundred pounds more than the 2.5 turbo. Probably throws off the balance of the car quite a bit.

it sounds ridiculous coming from a subaru. I'm not saying I wouldn't drive it! ;)

Just did a corvette engine swap in a friend's 240sx.....The LS1 doesn't weigh as much as everyone thinks, and is stupid reliable and powerful in stock form.
If i had a spare GC chassis kicking around, I'd throw one in.
Also, the LT1 and LS1 are completely different beasts FYI.

I found several of those subes vids..got em in a playlist. :)
there is the classic blue wrx with a v8 kicking aorund, they broke the rear end. you could see it squishing the dainty bars on the dyno.
Welding as much as i have... I wouldn't choose any sube. South of maine, they pretend stronger or what?
here an ea82 breaks cars in half and legacys melt to their own 2.0...
If to play like that, I would go welded old gl/loyale.
maybe curry a custom short rear end solid.
I did a six cyl to an 8.. learned alot. the 8 is more gentle than a boxer where it sits.. the killer is the power to ground eventually.
the 8 is quite nice. crazy rpm racers need crazy strong chassis of course, but to go normal v8, alot can fit it. Thge vega used to plop those right in with barely a crossmember.. (the body design looks just like a gl/loyale from underneath)
