sounds good its going to be a little while. I have to replace my blown tweeter & replace my rear door speakers. i already did the wiring for the amp/woofer as thats been in for a while and already did the speakers once, but im going to to a RF 3sixty.2 so I can run the stock radio but have line outs so i can amp the interior speakers as well

Honestly, I wouldn't even bother doing rear speakers. They're only 4" anyways, so they're not going to be able to produce any great sound mounted so low in the door. I would use the money you were going to spen on doing rears and add that to a good, quality set of 6" components for the front and an amp that puts out at least 75 watts rms to run them. Trust me, you'll be happier in the long run.

^ I did the Alpine 6.5" with tweets in the front and it makes a huge difference.
I'm still gonna do the rears ;) you can sub out the 4" for 5.25" with built in tweets.
Rainbow SLC 365 in my WRX.
6.5" Sub with custom spacers to fit in the front doors
4" 1 way speaker
2" Dome Tweeters
Passive 3way crossover
Real good mid bass from the 4'' speakers.
But they're expensive speakers:shrug:

I know how.... I just need to buckle down and do it
I should just bite the bullet and amp them like you said.
if I do that, you will be installing them

Man, you should've had them amped from the get-go. Those speakers need lots o' power to be happy. 75 watts to be safe.

What are most folks doing to upgrade the stock speakers? My VW Jetta Monsoon stereo was MUCH better than the SUBY Impreza set up. If you relace the sock speakers does that help the stock stereo or does that need to go as well?

^^^If you want to just replace the speakers to get better sound go for it. You can still use the stock radio. If you want even better sound put an amp on the speakers and then I would probably replace the head unit, but you don't have to if you don't want to.

Believe it or not, the stock speakers don't sound that bad if you amp them. I had 75watts per channel going to mine when I had my bugeye (I was going back to stock and put the stock speakers in and took the amps out a few days later).
If you replace the speakers it will sound better as long as you don't crank it up. The stock stereo doesn't have enough power to run a decent set of coaxial speakers properly and doesn't stand a chance with any aftermarket component set. If you're going to do components, you should invest in an amp that will do at least 50watts per channel. If not, you risk having clipping distortion from under powering the speakers at louder volumes. This will kill your new speakers pretty quick if you're not carfull

Replacing my front aftermarket speakers with MB quart PCE 216's this week! I already have my kicker 4 channel amp hooked up! Running 95 rms watts on each channel. :spin:

Awesome! Can't go wrong with MB Quarts. I had a chance to pick up a set of their Q series for half price when I worked at Tweeter. I didn't have the loot at the time, though. Wish I did.:o
